This is such a great addition to the neighborhood. They have Thai classics, plus some twists AND they have amazing salads of the highly nutritious variety. They are on my permanent roster of go-to Thai joints in DTLA.

Wonderful! Highly recommend this restaurant. The orange chicken, jasmine rice and spinach was amazing and the chicken was tasty and tender. We also ordered the milk fried chicken, rice noodles, and power greens which was equally amazing. The staff were very nice and attentive.

An oasis of great food in a wasteland - downtown LA. It’s in one of the nicer food courts. Not super-cheap, but for a sit-down of awesome food it’s great!Service was quick and thoughtful as well. You don’t feel abandoned like in some places. And lots of smiles.

Stopped in for a quick lunch with my partners. Our server was very prompt and attentive so we were in and out quickly. It was a nice warming meal during a rainy winter day even though the space itself is full of cool tile and marble-topped tables. We shared an order of basil chicken wings which were deliciously sweet and savory. I had an order of the tom yum with shrimp which had good heat to it. My boyfriend got the panang curry and it was delicious. Our other partner got the basil chicken rice and it was so bountiful they were able to take about half of it as leftovers.

Let’s talk about the (white) elephant in the room!We were very disappointed with our experience. We ordered the from the “contemporary” section of the menu which may have been our mistake. We hade the chicken and the salmon. The chicken was fried with an excessive amount of batter and tasted almost completely unseasoned. The salmon was overcooked and not well seasoned either. Both came with sauces. The chicken had something like the normal sweet chili sauce and it was good. The salmon had what I believe was supposed to be a ginger sauce, but it was super salty and I couldn’t eat jt (and I love salt!). The greens were dry/undressed, and flavorless. The rice was a good solid average. The highlight of the meal was the appetizer. The potstickers were above average—I really appreciated the thin hair-shaped peelings of red pepper they served on it. Finally we arrived around 815pm and the staff was rather assertive with repeated reminders about the fact that they close at 9. So overall, it was an uncomfortable and unsatisfying experience, and frankly the price was offensive given the below average food and service. We will definitely not be back. If you try it, maybe stick with the more traditional Thai.

Delicious! My husband and I ate here for dinner. He had the panang curry and I had the crispy basal tofu. Perfection! So much flavor and well done.

Second visit amazing food, experience has shown smaller selections typically result in more attention to the items being prepared, White Elephant does not disappoint. Inside the Spring St Arcade, a great calm atmosphere with class. As a neighbor I would recommend to those unsure where to eat in DTLA.

Let me tell you abt the service --- excellent, top-notch and memorable. Our main server, the other service professional were all ?? now lets get to the food and cocktail. Cocktails were beautifully made, wonderful ingredients and tasted wonderful. The food was amazing, the fried mushroom was surprisingly delicious (i dont like mushrooms but they made so delectable!)! Yellow curry and basil thai fried rice were our main courses. The thai fried rice took me back to Bangkok! The herbs tasted so fresh. Desserts were tasty, a nice end to my last night in Los Angeles (Feb.1st) ❤️?❤️

I have traveled extensively in Thailand...trust me...the food is next level Thai. Not quite the level of Soothr in NYC but still a winner in the DTLA area. The sweet cream green tea is a perfect companion to the food. The fried enoki mushroom app is inventive and tasty (eat it there, not take out). The pad thai is one of my faves ever. The noodles are done to perfection. It is on the sweeter side if you're into that. The panang curry is delicious as is the papaya salad. Skip the other green salads. Also recommend basil puffy tofu and make sure you don't skip the mango blue sticky rice! Prices are mid-range but worth the small inventive twists on the dishes.

If you want to eat thoughtful and delicious Thai food, and you happen to be near downtown LA… this is the place to go. I stumbled into here during a rainy day with a friend and was so surprised how elegant the place and service feels. On top of that the food was delicious, especially their Tofu Tom Yum and mango sticky rice :)
