My all-time favorite watering hole in not just downtown Los Gatos, but the South Bay. I grew up in the area and I make it a point to always stop in for a small pitcher of Kamikaze’s!! Despite a lot of changes in Ole Town Los Gatos over the last 40+ years, the Black Watch is still a staple and I highly recommend stopping in for great service, welcoming and traditional atmosphere and of course, awesome beverages. Cheers!

The Black Watch is a well-established neighborhood dive bar that offers a no-frills, unpretentious atmosphere. The service provided by the staff, led by the legendary Robert, is consistently friendly and efficient, making both regulars and newcomers feel welcome. The bar has a clean, well-kept appearance with a slightly dark and faintly seedy feel when the lights are low, reminiscent of favorite spots from the 1970s. The stained glass adds a nice touch to the vintage decor. While not offering fancy or gimmicky drinks, the Black Watch provides a classic bar experience, where one can enjoy a drink in a comfortable, welcoming environment. They serve modern cocktails alongside traditional drinks, and for those interested in some fun, there are darts available. The bar is busy by 4 pm and has street parking or a parking garage nearby. The only food options are chips and readymade snacks, and there is no kitchen. Service remains good, and the bar is an ideal spot for a nightcap or a casual visit with friends. It is not kid-friendly but is wheelchair accessible.
