Fantastic wines for an incredibly affordable price. These wines beat out wines twice their price easily. The space is cozy and there's quite a bit of outdoor seating compared to indoor seating. You just can't ask for better wine to price ratio. The wines are just phenomenal from white to red.

Go here. These wines are fantastic. I have the merch also! I get constant compliments when I wear my wineslut tshirt. These wines are amazing. If you love gamay you have to try this one! Matt is excellent at providing education during your tasting, I have learned so much from him. He really goes above and beyond. You have to go her, you will love it.

A group of eight of us came here because one of us had been gifted one of their wines and had liked it so much that they decided we MUST visit them while in Santa Ynez. We were not disappointed! We enjoyed tasting the different offerings they had, and Matt did a great job explaining what we were tasting, and how their wines came to be.

Stopped by this tasting room on a Tuesday from a recommendation from a friend. We had our pups with us and sat outside. They are dog friendly..Yipee. The wines were nice and we were able to taste an old vintage Syrah which my fiancé was super pumped out. Great little afternoon spent in Los Olivos

My friend in Orange County, an earner of master's degrees and a self-made female business owner, tells people that her tattoo of an octopus was chosen for three reasons: these undersea creatures are intelligent, mysterious, and delicious. If it were possible to judge wines by a label, the same would apply to the vintages of Holus Bolus. The tentacled and eight-armed cephalopod beckons from the bottle, hinting at inky riddles swirling within. Peter poured us a splash of Grenache from the Lyons vineyard with a mention of the days he spends combing the hillsides of the vineyards to gauge and guess the state of the grapes in his wines. There is no doubt, from first sip to last, that his wisdom in the fields has made the end result indubitably delicious.Besides the octopod-inked varietals, there are repertoires rivaling Van Halen in the Joy Fantastic and associated side labels. Uncovering and discovering the 'Genuine Risk' Cabernet blend brought all the pleasure of a romp through currants and cassis, while the Presqu'ile vineyard Syrah cut in with fresh grass and green peppercorns. One other bonus: a corgi winery dog is on-hand to greet guests and lap in attention with all the unbridled affection that can be expected of man's best friend. Whether your tasting flight of fancy is tickled by Prince lyrics or by an earthy expression of deep-rooted single clones, Amy and Peter offer the premier experience at their Los Olivos tasting room.

This winery's tasting room was a delight to visit! While not spacious, there is indoor and outdoor seating. Amy, one of the two winemakers (the other is her husband Peter) poured for me and explained their viticulture. Other winemakers in the area recommended them to me and I can see why. Highly recommended!

Great service and great wine, we enjoyed this place the most of all the ones we visited in Los Olivos.

Best winery in the Santa Ynez valley. One of the best across the country. Stellar Syrahs, Pinots and Chardonnay. Amy and Peter are both gracious. It is a must visit.

For me, wine tasting is as much about the experience as the wine itself. Tasting good wine can be ruined by the tasting room staff attitude. Unfortunately this is what happened at Holus Bolus. The kid running the tastings had an attitude that was very off putting. Very stuck up and full of himself. We felt like he needed to chill and make the experience more fun.Unfortunately we also weren't crazy about the wine. The two whites were good but the gamay was a white pepper bomb that killed my pallet for the Syrah.

Probably our favorite Los Olivos tasting room and certainly top two with Brewer-Clifton. Newer, less established vineyard hustling to establish itself in the Santa Rita Hills wine scene. Holus Bolus apparently means "all at once" and the octopus logo signifies the two founders arms and legs (eight "tentacles" combined) trying to do everything at once. We did not get to meet the locally famous Amy on our visit and some of the other shops had said she simply knows everything about wine. Their branding strategy is somewhat confusing: Holus Bolus, Joy Fantastic, and Made by Peter and Amy seem to be their three brands -- they should tighten that up. But their wine is very good, particularly their high-end pinot noir and the syrah from Presqu'ile. Overall, a fun tasting with a quirky bent (e.g., the purple doll man), and some great wine. At challenger prices, I might add, so a real value.

Went to this winery today on a recommendation from another winery in Los Olivos. I am so glad we decided to try their wines today. There was not a bad one on this list and will definitely be back!

Recently visited in April 2022. Peter and Amy were great hosts. Enjoyed many of their wines. We love the Los Olivos low key vibe. Make a point to stop by if you are in the area along with Tercero on the next block.
