Upon arriving, I was told that they'd changed their hours and had just closed! Disappointed and not knowing the area well, I stepped out of the store and was looking for other options on my phone when a worker came out and asked if I wanted an acai bowl. (They'd cleaned out the drink machines.) That was indeed what I wanted so I happily ordered a bowl to-go. The bowl hit the spot for what I was looking for that day. Thank you for being accommodating! -I found out about this place while exploring the neighborhood & noticed a lot of people popping in/out.
-Not only that the beautiful smell of Mexican food wafted into my nostrils, so I mentally bookmarked this spot.

-The Huevos Rancheros really hit the spot.

“Great spot for a healthy bite in the heart of Santa Monica. It was my first time there and I had to kill some time and ordered a matcha and acai bowl while I did a little work. Both were great and the other food I saw leave the kitchen looked good as well.

The really great part about this place was the super friendly staff and what I assumed were the owners. They were super welcoming and it seemed like a lot of the patrons were regulars and well known to the staff.

It's nice to see a community like that in such a busy part of town. It shows the quality of a place when the residents embrace it and it becomes part of the fabric of a place.

“It's giving consistency! I'm talking about the smoothies and the service. Pretty sure I visited them nearly everyday while in town for a graduation and saw a different staff member each time. Yet the smoothie never missed or was any less delicious. 10/10 nailed it even with my modifications. The texture of their smoothies is so rich and creamy. Never icey. A meal in a cup! My hubby loved the Cinnamon Blossom. I ordered the Chocolate Frost but substituted half the coconut nectar for dates. So wholesomely tasty. Plus their juices are on point too. My body was very happy after each sip. Worth every cent.“

“Sooo…when I want to avoid fast food…Kathy’s Kitchen is my go-to spot for healthy food, fresh juice, grocery items, and healthy-ish snacks!

She has a smaller menu but, she has a couple menu items I really enjoy. I grab her to-go/pre-made meals like the jerk chicken and Jamaican meat patties (the Veggie patty is yummy too).

My elderly father loves getting her pre-made spaghetti. Fyi…the sauce is freekin’ good! He also always orders a peanut butter sandwich to-go. He could make it himself, but he says, “Don’t you see I’m retired?”

My absolute favorite is when she occasionally offers new items she is putting together like these Stuffed Mushroom Tacos and the various bowls.

So, the thing is…Kathy is super knowledgeable. She has a phenomenal understanding of food and health. She brings in seasonal produce and you can grab some basic fruits and veggies while you’re there (Avocados…yesss). A few weeks back, she had the best strawberries and peaches I had tasted in a long time.

She also has fresh squeezed juices and things like turmeric shots. So, it motivates me to stay focused on making better food choices to complement my exercise routine and health needs. It’s a more quaint place that kinda keeps me focused on eating the basics. I’m putting more fruits and veggies in my body daily than I have in a while.

Oh…lately, she has pre-cooked greens in her grocery fridge pretty often! It is sooooo nice to be able to eat good-tasting greens whenever I want.

I got some plantain with my bowl today and that’s gonna be my dessert.

Overall, Kathy’s Kitchen is an experience!
My whole family loves stopping by to pick stuff up and see what’s available that week.

It’s not really about having a gazillion processed options. Going there has made me more intentional about eating healthy. I also like supporting a small business in the way I’d want to be supported if I had one.

For me, it’s being able to go in and have people who care about what I’m putting into my body as much as I do.“

When u get here you enter your phone number and every 10 visits you get a free smoothie so every 10 days I get a free smoothie. If you’re a coffee fanatic and love coffee you will love this place. The owner and all the workers are great. The atmosphere is amazing! The chairs are good and tables too! If you have some work and you want a good cup of coffee or a snack this is the place. I enjoy the superfood waffle and avocado toast. Also the espresso here is amazing. It’s in a great location right next to the gym and Home Depot. If I could I would stay here every day doing my work I love this place definitely checking out highly recommended.
