This was my first time trying Sugarfish in California and it was superb!! Our server Michael and the manager, Eric were so friendly, funny, and accommodating towards my friend and I. We had the “Nozawa Trust Me” and “Trust Me” courses. Everything was so delicious, fresh and prepared quickly. Our favorites from the courses were the Toro hand roll, the Hirame sushi (that yuzu-ponzu sauce is to die for!!), and the Blue and Dungeness Crab Hand Roll. Sugarfish in Manhattan Beach is a wonderful spot for a quick, tasty lunch followed by a walk along the shore :D.

Ordered take-out. I was really pleased with the presentation. The takeout container nicely guided you through the meal by suggesting the type sauce to use for each specific piece. Graphics/pictures of each type of fish in the order was a nice touch. Highly recommended

Came here for an early dinner to celebrate my birthday. Asked the hostess for a table for 2. Clearly, there are tables available and I was told that I had to wait to be seated. They don’t take reservations so why am I not being seated. After 15 minutes of waiting, 2 people dressed in t-shirts and shorts walk in. Sure it’s a beach locale, I get it. They go straight to the hostess and get seated immediately in a corner booth. Outraged and upset, I ask the hostess why we didn’t get seated. Unable to answer with any logical response, I was told that I would now be seated. I was then given one of the worst tables available. I felt very insulted and decided to leave. I heard good reviews about this place and was looking forward to trying it. Clearly disappointed and will not be coming back. Incompetence at the front desk and management seems to be a problem.

First time visiting. The food was excellent, service top notch and they were very patient with the arrival of the whole party. This was a great place to get dinner with coworkers visiting from other parts of the country and head out to explore Manhattan Beach.

Dined in for Omakase. I wish I took a photo of the sashimi… alas, I did not. The sashimi here is some of the best I’ve ever had - so fresh!!

Not the best at anything, but pretty good in everything, which makes it pretty great. Location is great if you plan on doing something nearby afterwards, e.g. get dessert, walk on the beach or pier, etc.
If you're willing to walk 5-10 minutes, there's plenty of free parking on weekday evenings. Otherwise, meter and paid lots nearby.
