“Came here for lunch and it was overall good, but a couple of hiccups that prevented it from being a 5-star experience. The food was overall good. I got the taco salad (La Compuesta) and while the filling was good, the outer shell of the salad was very stale. It was a bit disappointing as I typically like to break pieces off and eat them with the filling.

The service was solid, but when it came to paying the bill they had misplaced it credit card. It never made it back to me. When I went up to tell them, another guest overheard my conversation and found it on the floor right in front of the entrance/exit to the restaurant. Thankfully nothing bad happened, but that's not great.

Ambiance is nice inside with plenty of room for groups both large and small.

Overall, it was a good meal. A little pricey (over $50 for two meals w/ tip), but at least the food was overall good and the service was good too. This wouldn't be a regular stop for me, but it's a good option in Manteca.“

Chilaquiles are no the best but good too, 4/5 for that, meat is soo soft and what I ordered was much so I did not finish. The horchata was soooo good too. I will come back to try something else.“

“stopped today on our way back home we had the menudo, chicken and ribs right off the firewood grill and I must say everything was absolutely delicious I totally recommend everyone to try this place it's a must great food and people you won't regret“

“It had been years since I’d been to this restaurant, but it was always one of my favorites in the area. I was pleased to see that they’ve kept the same amazing flavors in their food and sauces! It was my husband’s first time there and he was blown away, even had to buy another burrito for the road. The service was great, very friendly staff. Definitely recommend 💯!“

“Calling this little restaurant a taqueria seems a bit understating things. My wife and I are new residents in the area and have tried it a few times now. The last time we decided to eat there and the fajitas were served just like a full restaurant, only they tasted better than most. The service is always friendly here also and the decor is casual and clever. Great little hidden spot to try if you like good Mexican food but dont want to wait 30 minutes for a table at El Jardin or Las Casuelas.“

“I'll start with. I'm a truck driver call my looking for a place to go eat lunch online. I find the restaurant. Online hours say open from 9am ro 6pm, i drive my semi.They're to get lunch arrive at 2:56 pm for them to tell me they are not open that they are closing at 3:00 . And didn't want to serve me , even after I explained that there online hours said they where open and still had a few minutes before 3 and that I went out of my way with a big rig to buy from them , I will never go back there or spend another dollar with them.“

“Well, I thought I'd be just another Mexican restaurant, but as soon as I walked into the Las Casuelas Restaurant and smelled the amazing aromas...I knew right then and there this was no ordinary Mexican restaurant! I came to Manteca to give my old Triffids Arcnobbler to my pal Dallas Cromlonger because he's been eyeballin it for 30 years! “I went to San Diego recently and was expecting some good tacos from there but surprisingly coming home and eating here was better and cheaper. The tacos are great, and I recommend getting the al pastor and lengua tacos with a bottled Mexican coke. This place is a classic.“

“La Estrella has very good food but the quality/taste is inconsistent. This was our first visit the the restaurant. We had a variety of items to eat and drink. The carrot juice (Zanahoria) was freshly made and excellent. I believe rice and beans are a great litmus test for a Mexican Restaurant and theirs were very good. Creamy beans and flavorful rice that tasted freshly prepared. My shrimp taco was very good but not a lot of shrimp inside. My Chile Relleno was fantastic, I wish I just order these. A pastor enchilada was only OK, a bit dry, bland and disappointing. We ordered flan for desert and it as terrible. We had two small bites and left the rest. So as you can see from this review, food ranges from fantastic too terrible. Pick carefully and you will have a great meal. Place is super clean inside and nice atmosphere. The salsa bar is excellent.“

“I always order ahead on the app and I only live a few minutes away. I never wait more than a couple minutes when I get there for my food.
I do not recall ever having an order missing a food item or missing ingredients (however I never modify my orders).
The only complaint is that night shift does not fill the more expensive items more than the cravings value items, so I never order the expensive ones at night now.
Maybe a fork missing here and there, but nothing that warrants less than 5 star service. Keep up the good work!“
