“Simply the BEST food and service we have experienced in a long time! We are visiting from the UK and spent 3 nights in San Francisco, stopped here on the way to Yosemite and what a stop, this place is not a match for anything that we have had on on our travels to date! Cannot fault it in anyway, the ribeye steak and apple pie are a must! Highly recommend Charles Street Dinner House! What a find we stumbled on! “Great variety of homemade pies and pastries, and delicious sandwich anf soup options.

We had slices of French silk, banana cream, lemon merengue, sweet potato and peach. They were all incredible.

Their chicken salad sandwich is one of the best I've ever had.

Our family came in with a decent size group, I had read several other reviews and I almost passed on this place..glad we didn't!

Couple things from other reviews, people mentioned they waited a while to be seated, there is a bell on the check out counter, we waited a while till we saw it and gave it a ring, they came right out. Second thing we saw on reviews was the automatic 15 percent gratuity, we didn't experience this but our tip we left was well deserved. Prices were fair too. Another critical review mentioned the food being $2.00 plus, basically at some point they raided priced but did not replace the menus. Not a big deal there, family run places

We ordered seemingly everything, the larger tables have a lazy suzan to eat family style, definitely made sharing easier.

Decor was traditional Chinese restaurant, place seemed clean and service was very good but not overbearing.

i'm sure they definitely get a high flow of tourist so reviews can hit or miss, but id give this place 5 stars.“
