gnar bar is such a gem in downtown mendocino! we were welcomed by the friendliest staff who even gave my dog a treat upon walking in.i did not expect to taste such delicious asian food! they have shelves filled with imported asian snacks, beverages and side dishes if you need a quick bite to-go. highly recommend trying their sticky chicken wings and udon garlic noodles. everything was cooked fresh right before our eyes.Vegetarian options: saw several people order the vegan ramen. the tofu garlic udon noodles were delicious and totally vegetarianDietary restrictions: dishes are made to order, so you can ask the chef to make accommodations. i also saw several vegan and vegetarian options on the menu.

This was a very tasty place. We had the miso Ramen with tofu and a spicy tuna roll. Both were perfect. We gobbled them up while sitting at the bar and looking out at the park. Service was friendly.

Holy Cow. This place is great. It looks like a fast food joint and so I lowered my expectations when I walked in but boy were my assumptions wrong. The food is incredibly fresh, thoughtfully prepared and beautifully presented. The servings are generous. We had the salmon poke and the chicken karaage - which was amazing. But there's so much more! Dumplings, ramen, sushi, etc....My only regret is that I couldn't order and eat more of their dishes. But it's okay. I'm going back tomorrow.

I’ve had a lot of musubi in my day, but this one is really good. I think there was teriyaki and a little spicy mayo which was awesome with the caramelized spam. Poke was fresh too. I will ask for some red onion next time to balance it to my preference. Sauced well and decent portion for quality of fish. Want to try the karaage next time.

Delicious! The Ramen broth is super flavorful and the ingredients are thoughtful and fresh. We loved the miso ramen with tofu and pork ramen. We also tried the shrimp shumai (according to my 10.year old, the best we've ever had?) seaweed salad (perfect balance of sweet and crunchy) and the kimchi which is a must have, gingery, crunchy and perfectly spicy. Exactly the meal we were craving on a rainy windy night. ? ??Vegetarian options: Vegan and vegetarian Ramen??
