Chef Kwan's Reviews
Food is soo fresh and tasty here. It's a no frills restaurant that has been making consistently awesome food since before I can remember. Don't sleep on the chinese chicken salad. My grandma traveled the world and said it's the best she's had in all of her journeys and I believe her. It's my favorite that I've had. I love that they put sauce on the side when you get sweet and sour or sesame chicken so that it doesn't get soggy before you get home to enjoy it.
Always excellent food and value!
The shredded pork in garlic sauce is my absolute favorite. The lunch combo with one entree, fried rice, fried noodle and a vegetable spring roll is very economical.

Chef Kwan's is a popular Chinese restaurant in the Bay Area, formerly known as Su Hong To-go. It offers many authentic and tasty Chinese dishes made with fresh ingredients. The service is friendly, and most of the original menu items are still available after the rebranding. Customers have noted that the food is prepared fresh right in front of them, making the experience quick and simple. Some dishes, like General’s Chicken, are highly recommended and are said to be life-changing. The menu includes a variety of options, including vegetables that can be prepared vegan upon request—free of meat, chicken broth, oyster sauce, or eggs. For example, the vegetable chow fun was enjoyed by one customer, and the staff are accommodating for strict vegetarians. Parking can be limited, but there is free street parking and a municipal lot nearby. While most customers are satisfied, some have mentioned issues with order accuracy, such as missing dressings or incorrect meats in dishes. Overall, Chef Kwan's remains a solid choice for Chinese takeout in Menlo Park, with many praising the quality and freshness of the food.
