“My take out dinner was humongous from Diner Japonica. It could’ve fed 2 patrons easily. It was a combination dinner with tempura, salmon lots of rice and a side of greens w an umami dressing. The place is not a sit down diner with the booths cordoned off. The old looking restaurant is in a small strip mall right on Woodside with a small parking lot. If you like big portions of oishi foods, get on over there. If you’re looking for ambience, it’s not this place but when I’m hungry for oishi foods, I’m definitely going back. The obasan who works there is very sweet. I recommend this little take out place.“

“I deliver custom cabinets in Silicon Valley from Bend Oregon and when I’m in North Bay I always eat here. Always fabulous food for me and my German Shorthair Pointer. Room to park for my huge delivery van. I have never got anything bad for last 6 yrs it’s always been great“

“Somewhat tucked away, modern eatery in downtown San mateo. Good for small gatherings. I was intrigued by the range offered on the menu - Latin, asian, European, American, though the quality didn't match up to the variety. Grilled veggie board had sliced carrots, eggplant, and zucchini too blackened to eat. Fried chicken sandwich was pretty - photogenic but the batter was rather burnt. Tacos were too greasy with good chucks of steak but it was underseasoned and dry. Servers were friendly but the pace was a bit off. Slow for a half filled floor on a weeknight.“

“Okay, if you are obsessed with pupusas, you have to come here. If you're not yet obsessed with pupusas, or you've never even heard of them, you have to come here. I love how simple their menu is, they don't try to do everything, they just do pupusas, and they are amazing!!! Please come out and support this new restaurant. The service is wonderful and the prices are very reasonable. Place is also very cute.“

I would like to improve my previous review of Tamari. We went back there again, and we absolutely loved everything we ate. The food is very authentic and delicious. We had a seasonal compote which was made with Cornelius cherries that are very rare and it was fantastic. We also had Khacapuris, Ajapsandali, a couple of dishes with mushrooms, and the cold combo platter. Again, I can only praise the food and service. The owner was warmed up to us, and we had some nice chitchat. We are going back there. For sure.

We had good Georgian food, but it could have been improved by adding a bit more salt to things like adjapsandali. It was a bit unfortunate that there was no bread we could order to eat pkhali with, but we ordered another khachapuri, which was great. We liked the food in general. The owner definitely cares about serving authentic georgian food, which we appreciate. I would say, as someone born in Georgia and raised with Georgian food, the food is as good as it gets outside of Georgia, unless maybe you are in Russia. The restaurant itself is clean, orderly, and well decorated. It was though pretty empty when we visited, which didn't bother us. The owner was attentive to our needs, which we appreciated.

“Came for lunch on a busy Weds. Staff was quick to help, amicable. The food selection was a great experience as the customer picks from a vast selection of fresh meat, veggies and broth, thereafter gives the bowl to the cashier/cook to prepare and boil in broth of your choice. Really neat concept and modern style. They charge by the pound. Clean establishment.“
