“If you’ve ever visited Paris and fallen in love with a proper buckwheat galette, you know that finding that same magic back home is a tall order. My wife and I have been chasing that specific memory since our last trip, and we finally found the spot.
This place is a total gem. We stopped in for breakfast and were immediately transported. My wife went with the Sarrasine, while I opted for the Parisienne.
The first thing you notice is the texture—both galettes had those perfectly lacy, crunchy edges that are the hallmark of a well-made buckwheat crepe. The Sarrasine was incredibly hearty; the sausage and richness of the runny egg combined with the asiago cheese gave it a serious savory punch and a great hit of umami.
The Parisienne also had those signature crunchy edges, which really highlighted the nutty, toasted flavor of the buckwheat flour. The smoked ham was high quality—not too salty, but with enough depth to stand up to the sharp, creamy melted asiago. It’s that classic combination done exactly right.
We walked out feeling completely satisfied. It’s light enough that you don't feel weighed down, yet substantial enough to be the perfect post-workout meal. We’ll definitely be back!“

“A community staple!! Been in the bay since the 80s. My parents used to go to their Berkeley & SF locations as a young couple, and I grew up going to their Walnut Creek & Berkeley locations. I may be biased being from the bay, but these are the best crepes I’ve EVER had (and I’ve been to France > 5 times). And the owner is the GOAT!“

“The service is fast and effective, and the food is delicious - as you can see from the long lines of people wanting to eat there. We are traveling from Norway and Louisiana, but always visit Honey Honey when we are in town 🌹🌹🌹“

“This is definitely a place you should stop and grab a bite or some coffee while you are in the city. It just happened to be across the street from our hotel so we gave it a chance. Im so glad we did. The mocha was SO good. The breakfast burrito was perfect size and the chicken sausage they use in it was really flavorful. Staff was friendly and service was quick. The windowsills were a little grubby but the rest of the place was very clean and staff was wiping stuff down the whole time we were there. Just a really nice little place.“

“One of the BEST northern Chinese restaurants in the city! the beef noodle soup is so rich in flavor and the sauce in beef roll is so delicious must get these two when you come! I also special ordered some northeastern style sweet and sour pork and that just broke the scale 10/10“

“Insanely expensive but of course this is tourism trapped in one of the glorious locations of all North America, where else can sea lions, expansive bridge spans, wild island prison history, and epic city scape combine with a rmwell made crepe? My friends enjoyed theirs and made short work of a regular Nutella. This is a cute little corner with some space and decent menu.“

“I ordered a birthday cake here and it came out just as what was shown on the picture!! The staff is very friendly and helpful. I’ve been coming to this bakery for years and I always get the smaller slices of cakes when I go. Everything is always fresh and great quality!! If you’re looking for a good bakery in Chinatown I’d recommend this one.“

“Been enjoying Sophie’s Crepes since their opening in 2000! Our favorites from their Savory Menu: the #3 Ham and Cheese Crepe and #11 California (imitation crab) Crepe (I add Avocado to these) and from their Sweet Menu: Green Tea Crepe and the Banana/Strawberry Nutella Crepe! Sophie’s Crepes is definitely a Yum destination for our family💕!“

“Good. Then we sharpen, not add.
Here’s your top 1% elite version. Cleaner, more precise, one stronger visual line:
⸻
You come for a crepe. You forget to rush.
Millie’s Crêpe et Crème sits inside the Mill Valley Lumberyard, quietly confident. A small window, patterned tiles, handwritten menus. Nothing competing for attention.
The crepes are the point. Thin, warm, just crisp at the edges. Sweet or savory, done properly without trying to impress. Organic wheat or buckwheat, and the gluten-free option feels intentional.
The details carry it. Buffalo milk soft serve from Double 8 Dairy. Coffee from Signal in Berkeley. Paper plates turned into menu cards, casually lined up behind the counter like a still life that happens to be useful.
Then the courtyard. Wooden tables, string lights, a slow rotation of dogs and locals who already know. You sit down for a few minutes and time softens around you.
It doesn’t announce itself.
It simply gets it right.“
