“What could have been a less-than-pleasant review has turned into a 4/5 stars for me thanks to one of the co-owners jumping in to take care of us. It was 1pm on a Saturday, we came in the server working told me to order at the bar if I wanted to sit outside. He didn't bother to mention that they're only serving the brunch menu and the hard copy menu I grabbed from a table didn't have dates/times specified for service hours. Turns out they're ONLY serving brunch at 1pm... and NONE of the items we wanted (including my starving toddler) were available. I'm super appreciative of the co-owner who followed us outside and offered to check in with the chef about food options. The kitchen made my kiddo mac 'n' cheese and salmon tacos, saving my sanity.

This was completely unexpected and changed my perception of the restaurant. I'll be coming back, this time when they're serving the lunch/dinner menu so we can try everything else we wanted.

Seating isn't great for kids who aren't tall enough for bar stools. There was one standard height table in the parklet and one inside.“

“This was a great find as we were looking to eat dinner at The Bird but it was closed.. Turns out they serve the same food one door over after the restaurant closes, but in a bar instead. The place was great, servers were friendly, and there was enough seating. The music was a bit loud for our taste, but bearable for a short while. It was a bar after all. So glad we found this spot.

Parking: Difficult to find parking in Hayes valley at all times, avoid driving if you can“

We came on a cold Wednesday and it wasn’t busy at all but it was still a great place to watch a game.

This place does get extremely popular and busy when it’s warm outside or there’s something big going on! They have mostly indoor seating but also outdoor.

There’s no food menu but you can bring food from outside, like Za Pizza.

With the photos on the walls, this place is a blast from the past and honors the history of San Francisco.“

“Great old place. I just came back from San Francisco where Yancy's is located and walking in felt like coming home. This was the place I turned 21 and now 43 years later find myself standing at the bar. Yes, it looks a little worn like a favorite old sweater and totally comfortable. The only thing missing was the Pac Man machine in the back by the big screen. I love this part of San Francisco. A nice selection of restaurants little shops and just character and charm.

“Went there with relatives from Ireland. The told me it felt like a pub back home. That is a great compliment. The bartender was also from Ireland and the back and forth banter between the bartender and my guest (Mainly dealt with the different countries they were from) was hilarious. Had great time.“

The regulars playing pool in the back are always nice and welcoming as long as you have common sense and can figure out how the chalk board works (there's always a few random old nags hanging around complaining, but they don't last long because they lose and leave). Lots of TVs with different games on, safe bar in a safe neighborhood. Nothing to complain about except it gets hot in the back sometimes. Probably the most popular spot in SF to buy merch as well. Great hats and shirts. Top tier bar.“

“This place is not what I was expecting. Chug Pub has got awesome 49ers memorabilia on the walls, as a 9ers fan I can really appreciate this. This would be a great bar to go and watch 49ers games at. The bartender was super friendly he bought a round of tequila and there were three of us. Not sure why he did this but it worked because we came back later and drank some more! The food is some of the best Mexican food I have ever had and I am not exaggerating. We ordered the nachos with tinga, if you dont know what tinga is its mexican bbq and it is a must try. The chips in the nachos were some the best I have ever had, I love my chips on the well done side almost burnt and thats how these chips came. I loved it! When we came back later I ordered a California burrito and it was hands down the best California burrito I have ever had. I live an hour away and I plan on going back on a Sunday to have some drinks, eat amazing Mexican food and watch some 49er games. The bathrooms arent the best but everything else makes up for it.“

“Nice neighborhood sports bar, right across the street from the Roxie theater. Long bar seating on one side, tables on the other. Lots of TVs, 24 beer taps (only about 16 in use at my visit), decent back bar selection, and even a good choice of rums. Good sized wings with great buffalo sauce, mozz sticks could be better, but are ok. Food prices are a little high.“

“Amazing place and people!!!! The manager, Candice, is so sweet and helpful! We got married at Deer Park Villa nearby and chose to have our after-party at Nave's after looking into multiple bars in the area. Nave's stood out to us over the others because of the friendly, casual, laid-back, and fun vibes! Candice made it so easy for us, helped us coordinate with Ghiringhelli's Pizzeria in town to have late night food there and ready for us when we arrived, and even let us bring our DJ and allowed him to set up his equipment and continue to play for all of our guests. We cannot thank her or Nave's enough for this! They even let us come back and do it all over again the next night! Some of our best wedding memories were made here this weekend. All of the staff and other customers were so friendly and welcoming to us! We definitely recommend Nave's for a wedding after-party or event! “I used to come here over the years especially when a friend lived up the street. Neil fixed it up quite a bit. Their good has certainly gotten better too. Tried the fish and chips. The fries were thin and crispy. The fish came in 3 pieces with tartar sauce, vinegar and another dip that was red and spicier than ketchup. There is a wide beer selection and they always have a nice Chardonnay for me. They also have pub quizzes there.“

“My favorite spot to play pool. The bartenders are nice and drinks are great. The atmosphere is always fun and energetic. Several players with good skill level show up here. Weekends get fairly crowded and fun. The pool tables are really nice. They have Diamond brand tables, 8 ft, which they maintain fairly nicely.“
