Pho Twins in Modesto is a Vietnamese restaurant that has impressed many diners. The pho is excellent, with an aromatic broth full of anise, cardamom, and cinnamon, but still packed with deep beef flavor. The beef chow fun is packed with more flavor than expected, and the short braised rib comes in a broth that tickled a tummy. The Beef Short Rib Pho, Spicy Beef Noodles, and Crab Noodle Soup are all on point, leaving diners satisfied and sweaty. The house special Pho with beef short ribs and Vietnamese spicy beef noodle are also great. The bánh mì has the right amount of chicken, and the cream cheese wontons have great texture. The clay pot catfish has the perfect balance of sweet, salty, and spicy caramel sauce over the fish, especially with a bowl of rice. The crispy chow mein with gravy does not skimp on toppings. The coconut kumquat refresher is not too sweet, super refreshing, and the calamansi citrus works so well with the coconut. The coconut drinks are also loved. This is the only pho place in town that serves bun riu. The restaurant is nice, clean, with great food, good portion, and friendly service. New owners are very sweet as well. Highly recommended.
