I love the people here, not just the employees because they're absolutely wonderful, but the customers are friendly here too. Many other Starbuck's locations, the customers have an heir of entitlement to them, like they're secretly owners and shot callers, and certain people don't belong there. This place is different. In fact, too much so. I come here almost daily as I live alone in Modesto with no family and friends for several hundred miles, if not thousands. My only issue is that this Starbucks allows this one homeless guy to practically live there. He's there evrey time I am and he has a smelly dog with fleas. I'm not saying he isn't nice and that his dog is unfriendly. I'm saying the place smells like dog and the dog has fleas and I feel uncomfortable with my food exposed. He cleans his dishes and dog bowls at the sinks where the restrooms are located, and he takes up an entire corner with his dog. I feel badly for him, and I do understand that Starbuck's caught a lot of flack for discriminating against black people and homeless people in the past, so they have to be really careful, but there has to be some degree of what they allow. I used to drive Paratransit in upstate NY, and we had a blind couple that brought their two dogs. It was a small process, but we had to stop letting them ride due to clenliness and the smell/inconvenience it caused others. They left the entire shuttle covered in hair and they had fecal matter on their clothes, which would be left on the seats. Imagine the smell. They couldn't return as passengers until they took care of the problem. They did, and in a couple of months, they were back. We were all happy. There has to be a shelter he can go to or maybe he can hang out at the library when they're open. I do understand there aren't a lot of solutions, but living in Starbuck's during business hours isn't one of them. I spend at least 2 to 4 hours there about 4 to 5 days out of each week, but I'm not bathing and doing dishes in the restroom sinks and I don't have the entire lounge area smelling like dog. I had to use the restroom so badly once, I went, and the smell of dog was just too pungent, so I just packed up my electronics and left, as I didn't want that smell sticking to my clothes. I don't have a problem with the homeless. There are about 4 others that are there too, but they don't treat it lie their persona home either. This guy would spray a half can of suntan spray and fog up the entire lounge. They did put a stop to that though. I know people need comfort pets. I would like one myself, but there has to be something that can be done or somewhere this guy can go. I truly feel badly for him, but part of it is he doesn't care what anyone else thinks or that he's imposing. Even the person I believe is the manager seems to be upset about the situation and not being able to do anything about it.“
“They are always very friendly. Unlike supermarket staff. Starbucks employees are very courteous and professional. All the products are always top notch and we always return to Starbucks wherever we go. Thank you so much. This particular location is very small but the service is great and the preparations are very fast. There is excellent parking as it is inside the OBrien supermarket.“
“The main reason I came to this Starbucks is due to the dominos and connect 4 unfortunately it was taken out. Everytime I brought my kids here they were just as excited as I was, they knew they get to play games and eat and enjoy themselves. I’m genuinely unhappy with these being taken out in order to “look the same as other Starbucks” my lady and I spend way too much here, please reconsider management or upper management this is serious to me and my kids. The community of younger kids will appreciate this especially my kids….“

“Haven't been inside this location, but I really like it. I like that they have an outdoor seating area. It was perfect. We will definitely return, they also have a private conference room! Perfect for corporate presentations on the go. I am pleasantly surprised about this location.Inside was clean, staff was friendly and helpful! “I went to the Starbucks on Orangeburg and since I was sitting in the drive thru forever I decided to order on the phone to speed things up but the Starbucks manager had me park on the parking spot and said he'll bring my order and he did, but first he took care of the next 10 people first. What a jerk! I'm never going there again.“
“The morning crew is always kind, cheerful, helpful, and get my drink correct every time. I love coming here in the morning, as it brightens the start of my day!
The afternoon crew, on the other hand, are always rude, dismissive, obviously don't want to be there, and get my drinks wrong constantly. There is an employee there with the name tag "Manny" who gave me half the normal amount of whipped cream, when I paid for extra whipped cream, and then when I asked for it to be corrected, he refused to help me, and the girl he was working with rolled her eyes at me and added a tiny spurt to the top. Since then, they have been extra cold towards me, try to make me leave, and give the bare minimum. They make the drinks extra icy, as I did an experiment once getting the same drink in the morning and afternoon, and the one in the morning was made perfectly, and the one made in the afternoon was an icy, flavorless mess.
As a manager in the fast beverage industry, I know how difficult it can be to go through rushes and make every beverage correctly while still maintaining a smile for the customer. But there is never a rush, and it is never busy in the afternoon, and I can't help but to wonder if it's because of the lack of care from the employees on duty during that time period. The biggest rush always seems to be in the morning, and my drink is never incorrect, and I always feel welcomed even in the fast-paced environment that is a morning rush in the world's largest coffee chain. A huge difference from the snotty behavior of the afternoon crew.
All in all, definitely come to this location in the mornings, but plan on the rush causing you to wait a little longer than usual! Avoid in the afternoon at all costs!“
