Closed for good. This LA Times article gives good information about the closure and how the new parent company that took over in June pulled off some really shady tricks.

going to miss all the curry house but especially this location. I brought my baby here when she was only a couple months old and now she's already 6 years old. we had wonderful memories of this place and all the workers that we known over the years

Good place to come when you're craving for Japanese curry. Their food isn't too bad especially for the price. They offer spaghetti dishes as well. Courteous, friendly staff.

Jacky Jay if you guys read this could you add me on Facebook. For the record no one really knows what happened, with the rising prices, menu changes, and management changes, everyone is lost that this happened. Unfortunately coco Ichibanya is not a replacement of curry house as their dishes are over cooked or fried most of the time. RIP Curry house :(

Very delicious! The staff was very attentive and the service was very quick. I would recommend it highly as the price was also very affordable. I will be back soon!

I feel like I've never been really impressed with the food when I come here. It's not bad but not that great either. I've gotten their curry with rice before and this time I tried their curry udon. The curry is rich and tasty, but I got a bit tired of the flavor halfway through the meal. I substituted the pork katsu for a tofu one and wish I had asked for it on the side because it got soggy after a while. Udon texture is not the best. Kind of pricey too (close to $15). Service was really friendly and attentive.

Menu and dishes have changed since new ownership. Also, the service staff doesn't seemed well trained anymore. Hope they get it fixed as the curry is still 5 star.

I came here nearly before closing hours and honestly the food wasn't that great. I'm not sure if this place is popular or tends to be packed because this was my first experience but when I came about only three tables were occupied. For, some reason they have two menus, one for beginners (?) and the regular menu. 1 extra star for the friendly waitress who kindly helped to explain the menu and what they served, etc. The small salad they serve before the meals did not taste fresh at all and both my sister and I left it uneaten. I ordered the Curry Udon w/ Pork Katsu. This was my first time eating Udon w/ curry as the soup base so I decided to try it out. I love udon but the curry was bland-ish and overall didn't taste as curry to me. I continued to eat the udon but majority of the curry (soup) was left untouched.

I came here once or twice a few years ago and didn't come back ever since. I just didn't have a craving for it. After going to Japan and eating Japanese curry pretty frequently, after coming back to the states, I developed a craving for curry. We decided to give Curry House a try again since it's been a while and we forgot how it taste. We came during a Saturday afternoon and we were seated almost immediately. The service was fast and efficient. However, I wasn't too impressed with the food. I'm not comparing this to Japan's curry for obvious reasons. I ordered the pork katsu, medium. Medium is for the level of spiciness, not the size of the food. It ranges from mild, medium, hot and extra hot. I believe extra hot will cost you extra. We got a decent size salad before getting our curry. I appreciated the plating of the curry since the extra room around the plate allow me to move my pork katsu so that it doesn't get all soggy from the curry. First bite, I realize that the curry was nowhere near my expectation of medium spicy. There was absolutely no kick to it. That was already disappointing. On top of that, the curry was too salty for my taste and the pork katsu was dry. This kind of reminded me why it's been a while since we have been back...

I remember going to Curry House alot when I was younger so I decided to relive those past yummy experiences. They have a new structured menu that I was pretty unfamiliar with and our waitress today took extra effort and time to explain the entire Ins and Outs of the menu. My sister decided on the Curry Udon w/ Pork Katsu and I decided to go with the half portion of katsu chicken breast curry thinking that the full portion was too much. I was sitting at a corner table where I could see the microwave of the kitchen and I saw the workers microwaving items that I believe were to be part of the Udon and it kind of sat unpleasant with us since we're being served microwaved food. Our dishes came out quickly and my heart immediately sank to my chest after looking at the thin sliver of katsu chicken pieces on top of a huge bed of rice with drenched curry sauce that took up a little more than half the bowl. When I think of Half portions I dont envision it to be this tiny especially the slivers of meat I got. I was disappointed with the food instantly. The meat was not fresh, juice, or by any means crispy which is how I have always eaten Katsu. I can confidently say that the quality has gone down so much. The curry sauce is nothing to rave about but I was expecting bomb curry since I went to a place that specializes in it. The ratio from rice to sauce to meat was so unproportional you're paying almost $10 for 5 tiny pieces of meat not enough to consume all the rice or sauce. My dish came out first and I ended up finishing all of it since it was so little, and my sisters Curry udon came out 10-15 minutes after which was uncomfortable as well. When her curry udon arrived, she immediately started to panic when she saw that her katsu was sinking all the way into the soup. By the time she got the katsu out of the soup they were all soggy and soft. (Our mistake) We should have asked for the katsu on the side so it doesnt get soggy from being inside the soup. She also noticed that the spinach in her soup was mushy , not fresh and basically not edible. The noodles were packaged noodles and everything in the udon was not good at all. The dish was not worth the price considering that the microwaved items were not satisfactory. Overall I wish I decided to go somewhere else because the quality has gone down so much and the food doesnt taste good anymore . It sucked having to pay for disappointing food when I knew I could have gotten better elsewhere. The waitress we had was fortunately super kind and attentive that the stars are all meant for her. I didnt catch her name but I came in around 3pm on a wednesday just before they closed. I dont think I will be returning unles their quality of food improves.

not good. rice was mushy and pressed like a bread dough. scallops were cooked well but tasted very old terrible service after being shown to an almost hidden seat in a corner. that nasty rice stuck onto the outside of all the dishes...saving grace was good weiners and curry sauce

Came here for dinner on a Saturday night, the server grabs the menu, says this way, and didn't realize there wasn't any table available because the tables weren't cleaned. We waited for another 10mins for them to clean up the table for us. I got the tofu katsu and the deluxe curry pork katsu. All appetizers were 50% off. For the deluxe curry, you get to choose if you want salad or soup. They had miso and corn soup that you can choose from. I chose the corn soup. It took about 15mins for the soup to come out. We waited about another 15mins for the tofu katsu to come out. Finally, 10mins later my deluxe curry pork katsu came out. During this whole time, nobody came to check up on us. Our empty soup bowl was just sitting there this whole time. They didn't take it away until the server delivered our main course. I first tried the tofu katsu because the server recommended it. Honestly, it was a disappointment. It had almost no flavors to it. 10/10 would not ever order again. Then I tried the deluxe curry pork katsu. Probably the worst curry place ever. The pork was served slightly warm. It didn't feel fresh, and the meat was hard to chew. Then again, nobody checked to see if we wanted our water to be refilled or not. Not to mention i paid about $23 for the terrible curry and katsu tofu. Overall experience was just terrible. I don't recommend coming here.

I honestly like Curry House. Their curry is rich and heavy. Good if you're starving, but it does get filling quick due to how heavy it is. I recommend coming with friends or family to share. I really like their curry pan/croquette, which is like a Japanese fried donut - it is very crispy on the outside with a nice curry flavor in the inside. We also got their Chili Spinach spaghetti with shrimp, which was not spicy at all. In my honest opinion, this dish kind of lacked taste, but is definitely a lighter meal compared to any other curry dishes. Service was decent. Nice waiters, but they did mess up a few times (minor errors) due to our large party size, which I know is hard to keep track of so I'll give em the benefit of doubt.

Had terrible experiences with services here. Waited 15 minutes without water, or really any anyone coming by to take orders, in a half empty restaurant. Ended up leaving and went next door instead.
