We attend the lucky penny routinely and have a very pleasant experience and encourage friends and family to join us. But on this occasion it fell very short of pleasant. We had a reservation and were seated promptly upon our arrival and were greeted by a member of the staff that I can only assume was the food runner because she was not able to take a cocktail order. Once our server made her presence is where the experience began to take a nose dive. She appeared to be flustered...
It seemed like our server was just having an off day, which isn't typical of our experiences at Lucky Penny. She felt a bit rushed with us, and she accidentally spilled water on my shoes and later on my lap without acknowledging it. We usually sit at the bar and always have great service, but today we were outside for a girls' lunch. Hopefully tomorrow is a better day for her.
Food was excellent, ambience fine, service beyond awful...wait staff less than pleasant and we had to ask for things constantly and it took over 30 min to get our food, eggs and pancakes, not a lengthy cook!
