A couple of friends and I tasted and toured at the winery this past weekend. It was definitively the most unique winery experience of my life. Beyond the wonderful wine and olive oil that we tasted, it was the tour of the ranch and the story of how Sid and his wife built the winery and ranch by hand, turning wild land on the side of the mountain overlooking the beautiful valley into a paradise. This was by far our most memorable experience in Napa Valley. It felt like we were a guest in Sid’s home for the afternoon. He set up a beautiful table for us to enjoy our tasting as well as an array of snacks including cheese, olives, dried fruit etc. After our tasting we continued with a tour through his property on a 4wd kubota that ended with us finishing our bottle of wine at the top of his property with wide ranging views out to Pleasure Cove of Lake Berryessa.
