One of the very best places to get guisados in San Diego. Here you can walk away, having these delicious stews stuffed into tacos or gorditas or both. I feel sad that I am seeing reports that this restaurant has closed (hopefully only temporary due to the COVID-19 pandemic), as it is one of my favorite "cheap eats" Mexican restaurants.
The Gorditas themselves were okay. They did not have what they claim to have. We went around 3 and they ran out of half the menu. A gordita is supposed to have cheese. Ours did not. The quesadilla was delicious. Was looking forward to an Agua Fresca which they didn't have.
I stopped by to try a gordita. It was a nice surprise! The place is very clean with nice ambiance. I ordered one combo with two gorditas, rice and beans. I had chicken with chipotle and pork cracklings in green sauce. They were great, very tasty and filling. The rice was also very good, although the beans I would of like them a little thicker. The attention, was great and very kind. Overall a great place to have a quick bite!
