Wait time a bit too long. Though the dishes are quite authentic
Delicious and clean
Slight crowded and air is sweaty when peak times. Highly recommend the guoba.

New HuiJi 新徽记下饭菜 is a new restaurant in a busy shopping plaza in Newark, featuring food from Anhui and nearby provinces. The food is authentic, flavorful, and the portions are generous. Everything tastes fresh and well prepared, especially the signature dishes. The braised pork belly, double pepper pork intestines, and mapo tofu are very spicy and savory, with a lot of peppers and garlic cloves. The Anhui dishes are very good, like duck and cabbage stew and braided pork. The fish fillets are very tender, and the soup is fresh and not oily. The setup is nice and cute, with dishes served in nice bowls and rice in a rice cooker. Service is excellent, but go early (5-6pm) to get a spot since it gets really busy. Prices are reasonable for the quality and portion size. This place is perfect for family dinners and gatherings with friends.
