$29 for a whole duck!! Service was fast & friendly. I also ordered egg tarts (buy 5 get 1 free), white chicken, wonton noodle soup and steamed pork bun. Everything we ordered was delicious. New Hwong Kok is located inside Lion Center. Will order again whenever I come visit Newark.

Would’ve given this place 5 stars up to about a year ago but service and quality has definitely gone down hill. They’ve gotten ruder and ruder and the food isn’t as nice as they used to make it. Slight shame but hope they’ll improve - we shall see!

The food tastes like I'm in Beijing & SG. Auntie the cashier is very friendly, she gave me extra shirm chive dumplings. The Uncle who is cutting the meat suggests getting freshly cooked pork and I'm glad I did. The place is set up for a quick in and out to go, they have also a few tables if you want to dine in.

Services and food quality have substantially improved since my last visit several months ago. They have added more staff to the front counter during rush hours.

A Chinese roast pork/duck over rice and dim sum spot within a shopping center. Solid place to grab a quick bite to eat. It’s also generally affordable. $12.99 for #7. It was a bbq and crispy pork over rice with cabbage. Also ordered 4 orders of shumai and hargow, sorry spell check. All was very good and worth the price.

Exactly what you expect of a quick serve dim sum counter. Are the floors simultaneously sticky and slippery? Yes. But is the food delicious? Also yes.Ordering can be stressful, but know what you want in advance and it’ll be fine (you may have to ask for specifics as everything is not displayed up front or is still being made in the back).

Haters gonna hate but there's a reason why this establishment has been around forever and there are still lines out the door every day. This is my go to for a classic bowl of HK style wonton soup noodles with roast duck. Pro tip- they tend to put the choice roast duck pieces in the soup (vs selling by the pound) for some reason. They also have excellent crispy roast pork and other roast meats, as well as a very good congee. The everything bun is packed with delicious meat and a big chunk of egg. Dim sum items like the shu mai, turnip cakes, lotus in sticky rice are a good value but nothing to write home about.

Foods are delicious, but the half-duck I ordered doesn’t seem like half a duck. But some random small pieces put together. Mostly bones and fats. What a shame.

The lunch combo dim sum specials are very reasonably priced for the amount of food you get, which get you around 4-6 pieces of various dim sum, and rice porridge with assorted fillings. It's good for a quick lunch pickup though it's not the most flattering place to be in, whether it be appearance or just sit-down experience. It is not the best dim sum in the Bay Area, but it is good for what you get.

Very typical Chinese BBQ food shop. The food quality is as good as similar shops in the area but lower prices than all of them. They are my first choice for this kind of food even though they are not the closest.

Pushy. They try to get you to buy more than what you intend to. Penny wise pound foolish.

Solid and affordable hole in the wall. Service is meh as expected but they sure loved my baby. Food here was superb. Deep fried turn over was well cooked, flavorful and loaded. Sticky rice had great texture, flavors and meats inside. Something cake was tasty too. There was more but I forgot. I would highly recommend coming here for legit dim sum and duck.

Very dishonest and cunning Chinese, I bought a roast duck and went back to open it missing a leg and a wing. It is estimated that they can have an extra plate of rice in this way. This is really evil. I've heard people say it, I don't believe it, but now I do.
