Extremely overrated cinnamon buns. It was extremely underwhelming and very expensive for what it was ($9.50!). Would not recommend.
We grabbed a cinnamon roll straight from the oven at Balboa Island Baking Company, and it was everything you’d hope for, pillowy soft, warm, and delicious. The icing leans on the sweeter side, but it totally hits the spot if you’ve got a sweet tooth. Cozy little bakery worth stopping by!

The best Cinnamon Rolls I've ever had! We always bring one home for the next morning with extra icing, microwaved with a little butter & delicious the next day. Super friendly staff!

Excellent blueberry scone, very tasty and crunchy on the outside. The only slight negative was it was a little doughy. Definitely would go back and highly recommended.

Delicious cookies with an interesting variety of options. The business is currently Dough and Arrow Cookies but the exterior hasn’t changed much at all from the previous bakery.

Lovely assortment of baked goods. The poppyseed almond muffin was Devine . Nice iced coffee and also great barstools to enjoy the treats .
Balboa, what a quaint beach area. Home to many famous people such as: John Wayne, Humphrey Bogart, Lauren Bacall, Shirley Temple, Errol Flynn, Nicolas Cage, George Burns, Gracie Allen, Roy Rogers, Peter Falk, Vanna White, and Charles Bronson. As we meandered on Balboa island we came upon this little bakery and the aroma drew us inside. The aromatic smell of the baked goods was favorably overwhelming. as we perused the glass case with all the delectable delights our eyes focused on the cinnamon rolls. we purchased 2. we were then asked if we wanted icing on top, of course. A generous amount was applied to the tops of both. I noticed the owner was creating something new and asked to video her, she agreed and said she was making a new batch of lemon scones. oh my goodness. see the video attached.
Enjoy these delectable delights, I know we did.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting your bakery and I must say, it was truly a delightful experience. The warm and homely atmosphere coupled with the homemade pastries exuded an essence of authenticity that is sometimes rare to come by.The dedication to using fresh ingredients was evident in every bite, and it was refreshing to see a place where quality is valued above all else. The customer service was impeccable, and the friendly staff added to the overall charm of the establishment.I found myself reminiscing about the old town feeling of Balboa Island, as your bakery truly captured that essence. It was evident that each pastry was made with care and passion, leaving me craving for more even after I had my fill.Thank you for creating such a wonderful space that not only offers delicious treats but also a sense of community and tradition. I wish there were more establishments like yours around town, as it is truly a gem worth cherishing.

I've only had the snickerdoodle cookies so far, and they are absolutely delicious. They tasted like your grandma's homemade cookies, but you can get as many as you want because your mom isn't there to stop you.10/10 would recommend, and will be going back soon. The owner is great, she's super nice and loves what she does! What more can you ask for?
