unfortunately i had to make a yelp account to bring attention to an incident with one of its staff ive been a long time patron of this bar and absolutely love the vibes but last Thursday the bouncer named Aron literally said "these ni88ers need to go" to a group of people and caused a gigantic scene this isnt the worst part though i came back this past saturday and hes still working there HOW ON EARTH DOES A BUSINESS OWNER OR MANAGER CONDONE THAT KIND OF BEHAVIOR! absolutely ruined this bar for me im sure they dont care but still feel better getting this off my chest and hopefully it leads to some changes

One of my fav Newport Beach Bars… open 6am to 2pm… what more could u ask for ?… the drinks are very strong and the juke box is perfect, pool table in the back too!! Locals hangout and Next to Blackies so if ur not digging the Vibe hop next door ?

If this was Jeapordy, the statement would be "This is the world's best bar." And the answer would of course be: "What is Beach Ball?" However, this is far too easy to actually be on Jeapordy. Obviously, everyone knows that Beach Ball is the best. Deitra and Joe not only make great cocktails, they make great experiences that bring guests back. And listen folks, you might be thinking, "Who's this joker, and why should we trust him?" This is a valid question, and the only way to confirm this claim is true is to come on down and see it for yourself. So stop what you're doing. Tell your babysitter he or she's gunna need to stay a little longer and watch the kids. Cause your asses needs to be down at this fucking amazing establishment for one more round. Heck, just open a tab cause I guarantee you're gunna wanna stay for more. I've never seen so much professional presence, constant movement, and sharing of the load. These people that work here put other mixologists to shame. So pick up an 8 Ball and head on down. ***I find that when playing pool at bars, it's always good to have a backup 8 ball just in case. Visiting from Hawaii and the rude guy at the door refused to take the 7 verified Hawaii state IDs because one person read out her new city instead of the former one on her ID. Didn’t give time for any explanation or questioning and refused service. We asked him to scan the QR code to verify the credibility but he refused. Also everyone is so obviously over 21 (also obviously tourists).

They replaced the Stage and Bleachers downstairs to popular Pool Tables.Best seats in the house are the Barstools along the Large Picture Windows facing the active Newport Beach Pier's Boardwalk and Parking lot.Parking: This large parking lot services many, many businesses and oceanfront entertainment attractions. Parking spots do open up with great regularity if you are willing to wait them out.
Avoid this bar, the red headed bouncer with a man bun made myself and every female in our group incredibly uncomfortable. I've been going to this bar for years. The bouncer tonight looked at the three girls I was with and asked if "we would start trouble" and if we did he'd kick us out. Then my brothers followed behind and he said "did you get kicked out from blackies" nope we just like beachball. I have NEVER in my years of Newport bar hoping, have experienced this before. We left almost immediately, due to the fact that our group was disgruntled, including our sober birthday boy. The bouncer at one of our favorite establishments was so unprofessional and made us uncomfortable that us ladies decided to leave our drinks behind after we had just paid for. After discussing our uncomfortable interaction with veteran staff, they had apologized and in return we said that "we will return when this security guard is not working." I feel sad, upset, but most importantly disappointed due to the fact that I send countless individuals, including personal friends and family to this local legendary establishment. I just hope that this issue is resolved in a timely manner, and that no guest has to deal with this disrespect and harassment in the future. Hope to see you soon.

After I shared our story of the terrible experience at Beach Ball and Blackies a Beach Ball employee ( Robert M) is now messaging me on yelp telling me how the problem isn't that the red headed man bun door douche touched my son on the way INTO the bar and told him he looks like trouble ( BEFORE THEY EVEN ENTERED) but how the real problem is how we raised our sons. Yes, my son reacted. As he should have. Yes, he probably wasn't very nice. But, I know my son and I know he is extremely well behaved in public... never any problems and he shouldn't have been grabbed and insulted. Period.Please see pic below. ROBERT is now telling me to go back to Barstow. I can only assume that's some veiled insult to the patrons from Barstow as I'm not from CA- never been to Barstow ...
