View: 5 star - Beautiful pool and gorgeous golf course with ocean on the horizon . Lovely spot! Food: Excellent Traditional Eggs Benedict & others chose outstanding Salmon Benedict. Yummy Reservation for 4: Disappointing. Made waaay in advance specifically for outside table. It was busy but not chaotic. Hostess said “nothing available for our time” except a booth inside ( which is almost always empty anyhow). We declined, so told to wait. We directed ourselves to the bar - Only 3 people sitting at the bar with 3 bartenders there, but no one even looked up. Not a Pelican Resort welcome or even brief nod. Odd. We waited quite awhile to be served and 20-25 minutes before our table ready. We LOVE Pelican Resort & restaurants and know this is the most casual. Such a beautiful space, but it's still Pelican Resort, so service at these touch points might need a little look-see as plenty of supervisors were there? Bottom Line: ... We had a DELICIOUS BRUNCH so the kitchen and table staff were on point !!!

We had a wonderful experience celebrating a birthday at Coliseum Grill! On our way in, we were greeted with friendly valet service and hosts, and we were happy with everything we ordered. The service once we were seated was fairly slow; however, view was beautiful and we didn't mind waiting a little longer.

One of the best places to eat anywhere. Asked if they still allowed corkage and was told they did. We were charged $50 dollars per bottle!!! we should have asked

Seating staff made a big stuff because we had an extra person on our reservation. They had all of us get up from a seated table and wait 15 minutes before we got the other table. There was plenty of space available for the extra chair. Also, food was way over priced and they charged us extra $40 service charge on a bill of $200 on top of the tip plus taxes ! Never explained the service charge !

I was treating my friend to lunch and what bette place than the Coliseum ? She had never been so this was a treat for her. We both had the Poke bowl and it was fantastic . The tuna was fresh and the rice was warm. We ate everything in the bow. Unfortunately that meant that we were too full for desert. It really is a great place for any meal. The server was very attentive and thoughtful:) I will be back again for another great meal.

My friend and I had a wonderful birthday lunch out on the patio. Edward made it so special for us and even offered to take our picture. He brought out a birthday dessert for my friend with a candle and it was fabulous!

Stunning sunset views and above average food overshadowed by slow service and lackluster attention. The staff was all pleasant but we would sit for long periods of time without plates or cutlery or without being checked in on to order.

The entire restaurant was excellent. The food was amazing and it looked exactly like the pictures/ads. Our waiter Edward was immensely respectful and exceeded our expectations. I highly recommend this restaurant to all.

View is unmatched at this location, From the second I was greeted to the second I departed everyone made sure to be kind and emit an incredible level of hospitality. Food is immaculate. Will happily be back soon!

Such a disappointing experience. We had a reservation but had to wait 25 minutes before being seated in the bar of all places. After another 10 minutes without seeing a server, we left. There was a constant line of guests getting up from their table to complain to the hostess about service problems. We've had service issues here in the past, but keep going back for the view. We do not plan on returning after this experience. Food is average but overpriced. The Irvine Company should do better! It's curious that they can't attract and keep personnel at the price point.

The place was beautiful, the view was beautiful, the food was beautiful, the ambience was beautiful. The Coliseum Grill is serene and romantic and the perfect place for a memorable experience. Dr. Robert O. Young

Reservation was for 9:15 and we didn't get seated until close to 11pm. Unacceptable. Nothing like I imagined for 135.00 per person. Won't be booking new years here again.

We stayed at the resort with our kids. Everything was great! Angelica was amazing! She had all of our food out quickly since our kids were hungry. The staff provided heat lamps and blankets since it was slightly chilly that day. Amazing service and experience.

Went there for breakfast and the food and selection were good. Due to the chilly weather, we sat inside by the bar and it did get noisy with the blender going in the background. Next time, I'll opt to sit outside near a heater. It wasn't that warm inside since all the doors are open. The view is beautiful and service was good. I would definitely come back again, but would sit outside.
