A beautiful morning at Crystal Cove...7AM reservation at a table with great views of the ocean and our smiling server, Oscar, welcoming us with strong hot coffees & cream. Perfect. I enjoyed a typical breakfast that was perfectly prepared to my order: poached eggs, extra crispy potatoes & bacon with rye toast and blackberry jam. My lovely partner was overwhelmed by the tasty gigantic "Savory Spinach & Mushroom Crepe". It would easily feed two people. Oscar was very attentive...read full review
Had an absolutely amazing time at the Beachcomber! Our server, Gabby, was top notch and the food was amazing. Ordered the Fromt Porch Blackberry Tea and Watermelon Mojito for drinks. Was recommended the Crispy Artichoke, sooo good! Also had a great bowl of Clam Chowder. The Garlic Shrimp was ordered (but had it as an entree), and I got the Braised Kobe Beef Short Ribs. Also ordered the Asiago Gnocchi to share. Everything was fantastic, absolutely delightful! And that gnocchi…chef’s...read full review

The Beachcomber at Crystal Cove is a well-loved beachside restaurant known for its stunning location and tasty food. The ahi nachos are a must-try, especially when paired with a michelada at the bar. The restaurant serves generous portions at fair prices, making it a unique seaside destination. While reservations are recommended to avoid long waits, guests can sit at the back or side bar area without needing one. The cool ambiance inside is inviting, but many visitors find sitting on the patio with beach views to be an epic experience. The deck is equipped with heaters for comfort on cooler days. Kids enjoy having a s'more after their meal, and the restaurant is famous for its miso glazed butterfish and brioche blueberry french toast.
Recent visitors highlight the spectacular view just 20 steps from the ocean and describe the food as spectacular, considering it the best meal during their stay in Newport Beach. The service is often praised for being friendly and energetic, making the dining experience even better. The setting continues to be described as spectacular, and many guests say it is their favorite restaurant.
However, some concerns have been raised. One guest was unable to eat their meal because of a wandering cat on the deck, which affected a customer with allergies. They suggested that the restaurant should notify guests about the presence of the cat at the time of reservation, as it moves around from table to table.
Overall, The Beachcomber offers a memorable dining experience with a great view, delicious food, and friendly service, though some note that parking and shuttle fees can be high. Despite this, it remains a popular spot for both locals and visitors alike.
