“Ever since we visited Hawaii a couple years ago, I've been craving Hawaiian styled food. I saw Ono in passing one day, and finally was able to give it a try on Friday. I was not disappointed at all! I got the chicken katsu plate with two sides of rice and two sides of steamed veggies (I substituted the macaroni salad for more veggies). The food was fantastic. My only thing to remember for next time is instead of substituting for two sides of veggies, to do an extra side of rice instead because I definitely didn't need all that cabbage hahaParking: Depending on the time of day, it can be a little difficult to find parking. “Malama Pono has been my favourite restaurant in the neighborhood since 2021. I have always enjoyed my time here. Wonderful food and staff! BEST crispy rice in town!! “The place itself is tiny, but the service is impressive! The owner himself greeted us and answered questions about the menu, then gave us samples. Ended up getting the Hawaiian Poke combo with 1/2 cucumber and seaweed salad, and a ginger ale. My favorite thing off the menu is hands down the seaweed salad. The poke was good, I think that because it’s intended to be a new take on poke itself, I was a little disappointed. I just happen to love the typical assembly line style of poke where you get to pick everything you want, and that wasn’t an option here, so I felt like there was something missing. It’s really just about personal preferences, but if you really like poke & want to try something different, then I would recommend it!Side note: I didn’t try the ramen, but the entire restaurant smelled strongly of broth and butter noodles, (in a good way) so I would be curious to try their ramen next.“
“Wife and I were ecstatic upon hearing that Ululani opened shop close to home. We experienced it first in Maui. Other shaved ice shops in Maui and Waikiki couldn't hold a candle to Ululani. Fluffy ice and their syrups taste organic and not too sweet. Our four year-old approved on his first trip to the Hollywood location. This is the best Hawaiian shaved ice by a Maui mile. Hope they stick around long term.“
“I remember coming to the shop for sushi rice when I was pregnant. Whom had seemed to be the owner of the shop ending up being incredibly kind and accomplished. Two young kids work in the counter in tandem with each other.My whole experience here was great. I have to say that for $17 getting somewhere in the vicinity of like a pound to 2 lb of rice and protein and poke and all the toppings, and the sauces, the flavor combination is just incredible. I cannot stress how fresh the albacore, tuna, and salmon are. San Fernando has a 90-minute limit per space. Be careful, some spots or 10 minute only. There are two free structures closer to Orange Grove that are Unlimited for about 22 hours. No parking 3am-5am. “Easily an above-average poke shop. I wasn't even craving poke when I first discovered this spot, but I instantly walked in when I saw photos of the crispy onion topping. It's probably one of the more distinctive features compared some other locations I've visited. ***Caution*** - the smell is pungent... so maybe have a breath mint after? When you just look at the price, it seems a bit expensive, but the quantity is well worth it. I ordered a medium bowl and it was more than satiating. Found myself full with an awkward amount left, so I finished the entire plate. I was wrestling with food coma for the next few hours. Quality of each ingredient is pretty solid. I don't think I experienced anything bad while eating the food. The only reason I took off a star is due to the environment. The interior seems a bit run down and I would not want to eat inside there again. It seemed gloomy and not a place to stay. There also aren't too many seats inside which makes me think the manager wants people to take their food and go.“

Most Hawaiian restaurants are in Soith Bay OC San Diego and Bay Area. Fortunately we are blessed on Los Angeles to have a venue such as this.“
“Ohana BBQ is my comfort Hawaiian food spot on Ventura Blvd. They stand out among the others because it's Hawaiian dishes with Korean BBQ. Every time my wife and I go , the gentleman who takes the phone orders is also the one ringing us up and he's so pleasant each time. My favorite item on the menu is the japchae with short rib. They're also very generous with the teriyaki and hot sauce which is a plus. Also the wall of celebrities who've dined there is such a great touch!“

They only have one outdoor table unfortunately, but poke is something you grab and go anyways. We ended up taking this to a street down (Black Elephant Coffee) and eating our meal with our lattes.The portions feel small but it's really actually just dense. The ingredients are fresh and flavorful, but I do wish that they gave you more than just 2 add ons. Looked through the list and just went with the first option because it looked good already. 1. BBQ Chicken, Beef & Katsu Combo (13.99$) - Saw it was only a dollar more for another protein so of course I had to get this one. The chicken was probably my favorite of the three. Very juicy and soft. Love that they don't shiest on the protein. My toddler loved the katsu and the bbq chicken! Beef was more on the chewy side so it was harder to eat for the kids but i enjoyed it. 2. BBQ Chicken & Short Ribs Combo (14.99$) - The short ribs were amazing!!! It went by so fast and I really wanted more. Again the BBQ Chicken was really good. Definitely recommend this combo! An amazing first experience not to mention so incredibly CHEAP!!! “My go to poki spot in DTLA. Fairly priced and not skimpy with the protein the workers know what they're doing! I switch between the poki bowls and the wrap - both are great honestly. There are so many options and compared to spots like sweet fin this is just so much fresher and better in my opinion. It's located inside the grocery store which is nice because sometimes I grab a wrap and do my grocery shopping. You can also take it to go and sit at the tables outside. Super good, a must go.“

“Hands down, the best Poke place I have eaten at. I travel for work and I love Poke and I try to visit local Poke restaurants where I'm visiting. The large selection of seafood and toppings makes for a great meal. I love the spicy tuna, the shrimp and scallops. I usually get two scoops of crab meat and add avocado, edamame, cilantro and spicy Poke sauce. I never get tired of eating it. Co-workers say it is the best Poke restaurant they have ever eaten at. They have pretty loyal clientele. You can order online, although I have never done that, and pick up your order. There isn't a lot of seating and it's a large long table in the center and a section against the wall where you can sit and eat. Seating is usually available and most people I noticed take out their order. The parking lot is small and you can usually find parking on the street if necessary. I totally recommend this place. The owner is nice, the management is nice, the step is incredibly friendly and it's just a pleasure eating really good healthy food at this location.“
