Ordered lamb vindaloo extra spicy, excellent food, made when you order, good portion size of vindaloo and rice. Comes with large rice plate. Only $1.5 for bottle of mineral water. First time eating here. Will come back. Good value for the money.
Looks like they have not raise menu prices very much in the last 2 years. Friendly service.

This is my favorite place to go to in Berkley when I'm hungry. The food is cheap but the portions are fat, and the Naan is legitimately the best I've had anywhere in the U.S, absolutely delicious. I haven't tried all the curries yet, but all the ones I've had so far have been amazing. Highly recommend anything with Goat.

The owners are super chill and always make me feel good about stopping by. Also the grocery store is super convenient, even though I'm usually stopping by for food.

If you tryna find the best Goat Curry/Naan combo in the Bay stop wasting your time and come here already!

Vegetarian options: got literally all the classic veggie dishes. ordered the palak paneer on accident and wasn't even trippin cuz it was so good

Pretty tasty and decently priced. I like to get their specials. The chicken quarters and the lamb shanks were particularly good. The side salad is solid and there is a bed of basmati rice that the meat usually rests on.

I enjoy the seasoning quite a bit. Just a touch spicy but mostly just flavorful.

I have lived in the area for nearly 10 years and for the past few have passed this place on my bike, but I finally had the pleasure of going in! I grabbed food to go and a few groceries with a group of friends and met a ton of the folks who work there.

The grocery was small, but had a lot of critical essentials to south Asian cooking such as whole spices and chutneys, and also had a good selection of frozen foods and snacks that actually tasted more fresh than snacks I’ve gotten at other places! The workers at the shop are very open to ordering things they may not have if you ask and are patient.

The food was great! We got two pizzas (they have Halal pepperoni!) which were great. We also got the lamb kebab pizza which was super good. There’s a pretty wide variety of food both veggie and meat, and they also seem to have a rotating special. I have my eye on the goat biriyani for sure ?

Seating area inside was spacious and bright!

Big portions, delicious food, fast service! What's not to love? Wrap was delicious but soo juicy so a little messy to eat. Get some extra napkins before starting!

Al Maida is a family owned halal establishment with amazing naan, samosas and vegetarian options. The green sauce is fire and the chicken wrap is my go to staple. Support a local Oakland family.

Had a great dish of lamb biryani, and a peek into Oakland's Pakistani community. While I was waiting for my order, I was offered a taste of another group's goat curry, and learned a word or two of Pashto. If you're the only one there, you'll find the atmosphere to be standard-issue convenience store, but if it's full of Pakistanis, it's like a short visit overseas.
