We checked this place out for Oakland's restaurant week. I was absolutely amazing. Every dish was cooked to perfection. The salmon was great, I love crunchy fish skin and they nailed it. We also tried the red curry. I was all delicious. The service was awesome as well. Even though is was the end of the night and they were closing shop, the staff didn't make us feel rushed. I can genuinely say this was some of the best restaurant food I've had in a while. Every dish was bursting with flavor without being over seasoned or too salty.

Although my Noodle loving friends were somewhat disappointed by the drunken noodles, Gai Grapao tasted just perfect.

The restaurant must have had a bad night bc the food that we had was SO BLAND. It was so so so unflavorful. did someone forget to add the sauce? the people working there were really nice

Food was ok and unique but not sure if amazing enough for me to want to come back! Also kind of pricey. Atmosphere was pretty casual!

food: WOW 10/10 the Mussamun Neur was so delicious. If you like peanuts and red curry this will blow your mind it's so tasty and flavorful! I ordered door dash takeout but I will definitely be dining in and having this to get the full experience :) I also ordered a side of wings and they are also super yummy no complaints at all! Once before I had their dessert roti with condensed milk and it was a sweet and tasty treat :)I cannot speak on service and ambiance but I will be returning soon and with company!

Celebrated our anniversary in the beautiful Temescal District in Oakland. Came across this corner restaurant that merges traditional Thai cuisine with soul food, Bird & Buffalo offers flavorful and inventive dishes easily some of the best chicken wings, red curry, Gai Gra Prow ( ground chicken, basil , Thai chilis)and Mussamum Neur (Beef Curry Stew)and red curry that are unlike any other in Oakland. Michelin Guide Restaurant to visit!!

Bird & Buffalo offers flavorful Thai street food at a high flavor-to-dollar ratio!I usually go for the Mu Yang (tasty ribs) for max flavor. It comes paired with a nice, little red cabbage slaw. My latest find is Gari Gai, which offers a braised quarter chicken, onions, potatoes, and a yellow curry. Add rice! It's absolutely delicious. My gf goes veggie and orders Kai So, which offers grilled vegetables and tofu with egg noodles - also in yellow curry, but creamier. I'd like to try the Mu Palo (pork) sometime because of the Yelp raves.Bonus items worth getting: The Thai roti is a thing of beauty. The chicken wings are darn good too. Eating in is a quick order at your table - always a kind staffer. They offer seating at tables with benches inside or outdoors. Plus, there are a few tall boy tables inside along the window. A good reason to eat in is the nice selection of beers on tap. For delivery, I use Door Dash and it's always super fast. I should get delivery from her more often. It's been a few years, but I am forever reminded of Rosamunde Sausage Grill, which had a nice run at this location. But not as long as Bird & Buffalo has. I hope it remains a Temescal fixture. This is total foodie nabe now, but B&B holds its own. 4 stars, easy.

My jaw was wired shut but the people I was with said they loved the food. The rice bowl, roti, and the chicken dish the people I was with had were really good apparently. The servers were attentive and gave recommendations when we asked for some.I had a Thai iced coffee with a paper straw. It was well made and tasty. All in all, A must go place for a bite to eat.

I enjoyed eating here very much with my friends! The food was really tasty and the portions we're decent for us. The chicken wings were delicious - crispy and hot with a nice sauce glazed over. The service was great, didn't take too long for our food to come and the outdoor seating was wonderful for us because we had our fur babies with us! I'd definitely make a return visit! The 4 stars is because I liked the overall experience - it just felt pricy. We spent $100 for 2 lunch combos, a noodle dish (I forgot to photograph) and the chicken wings. All in all, great option for folks with doggies to sit and enjoy a meal outdoors.

Wow. That is my response. The kitchen is top notch, the staff friendly and cool. I'm probably going back tonight to try other dishes on the menu.

Fun spot and incredible Thai with a twist (that for once is not Asian fusion). The green curry is to die for and dad really liked his noodles. They do a great job on the "soul" style while still feeling authentic (although I as a white person am not an expert here - it's good though.) I really hope they bring back crispy pig ear with tamarind because it was one of my favorite-ever dishes, but anything else I've had here has been excellent.Note that their portions for takeout seemed noticeably smaller than dine-in, hence the star off. Still good but I'd rec eating there if you're hungry.
