“A fabulous breakfast, lunch and brunch spot with a cozy vibe and friendly smiles, prompt service, and attention to detail. From fluffy pancakes to hearty omelets, their breakfast menu is a delight. Whether you crave classic comfort or innovative twists, a sweet or savory lover, they've got you covered. Ah, brunch--the magical meal that bridges breakfast and lunch. Blackberry Bistro's brunch menu is a celebration of flavors. Try their signature dishes, and soak in the cozy ambiance. Their lunch offerings are equally impressive. (Kaz - Feb. 2024)“
“My experience with this hotel started with a phone conversation with Amika at the front desk a few days before my reservation to confirm my stay and request a quiet room. She was kind and helpful; it really put me at ease and assured me everything was going to be perfect during my stay. Indeed, everything was perfect during my stay. Check-in was quick, pleasant, and smooth. I wish I had the agent's name who assisted me (long hair tied back) because she was great, and she later helped me when I left my luggage at front desk after I checked out. The room (5th floor) was quiet, as well as clean and well-appointed. Jason at the front desk helped me out several times during my stay, and everything just seemed really seamless. The location is perfect if you need to get to the convention center or Bart. Definitely recommend and would stay here again.“
“I was a huge fan of Delirama, my absolute favorite sandwich was the Delirama Mama, so I was sad to hear the owner was going to pivot in a new direction. I prefer take out to dining in, so I waited for that to be an option, and put my order in today. I got a fried chicken sandwich and the pastrami Reuben, both with chips. The menu says a small salad is served with the sandwiches. The fried chicken sandwich is HUGE and delicious. I prefer my fried chicken to be a little on the dark side, which this was. I only wished there were more pickles, but that's because if I could subsist on pickles I would. The Reuben was the same as the Delirama one. My husband was bummed it was "so small," but that's because I used to get the biggest sandwich option and this one is the regular sized one.The chips were yummy, and still warm from the fryer by the time I got home. Or had just taken on some of the radiant heat from my sandwich. Either way, delightful. The salad is not small, it is quite generous in size. The dressing is a little sweet and a lot acidic, which I really enjoyed. My one complaint is that it was overdressed for me, but I prefer the minimum amount of dressing.I gave the atmosphere 4 stars because it was a bit dark inside for me.“
“Clam chowder from here is always tasty with same consistency. We also tried crab chowder which had peculiar taste. The view from upper floor is good but if you are there just to taste clam chowder don’t go upstairs. You might end up paying extra.“
“We had a lovely evening here, service was friendly, food was great (we had the steak, roast chicken and pasta - the kitchen was kind enough to give the kids second helpings of the pasta as they loved it so much) and we enjoyed a beer and wine along with the meal. Great atmosphere and some quirky trinkets about the place made it a most enjoyable evening.“
“Even though the "Open" LED sign was turned off, L&D Bistro is actually open. I was the only customer at noon and then it became 1/2 full at 12:30pm. The thing about restaurants with the word "bistro" in the name always puts a smile on my face. It reminds me of the old TV sitcom Three's Company where Jack Tripper owned Jack's Bistro. That show was hilarious. There's none of that wackiness here though. I had the fried shrimp & calamari $13 as my appetizer. That was good. They put a bed of tomato red sauce on the bottom with some capers. It would have been better if there were tarter sauce available. Chef's choice I guess. It was still good. For my entree, I took advantage of the lunch special $14.50, which comes with a beer or a soft drink. My grilled Angus top sirloin steak came out well done'ish, even though I ordered it medium. It is challenging, to say the least, to cook that thin piece of meat right. Regardless, still good. It took about 35 minutes for the entree to come out if you have a limited timed lunch break like I do. You pay at the cashier when you are done, which is more efficient. Service was excellent.“
