A Yemeni Cafe with a modern touch and serious focus on taste!
A Friendly service with attention to details.
Was really impressed with their collection of pastries and fruit shaped scrumptious mouse cakes. First time I try such beauties at any cafe for that matter!
Their Yemeni black tea has cloves, cardamom, and cinnamon… ordered with little honey mixed in for a complete immersion of tastes!
Will most definitely be back with friends!
Best location in Oakland , closed to the Lake Merritt , the Yemeni Juice something you should try, also the coffee is really good .
Also they have delicious sandwiches ; i tried the chicken sandwich was so delicious.
You should also ask about their special Mango iced cake.
I came here before the renovation and coming back again. Incredible and relaxing atmosphere with many Yemeni style coffee drink options, all day brunch, refreshers, smoothies,and pastries! I felt at home and welcomed coming here. This place is definitely a beautiful addition to the neighborhood and a beautiful place for community to spend time in. It's a great place to hang, sit down, and relax! I can't wait to come back and bring my friends over!

Mazar Cafe is a local gem of a cafe located right by Lake Merritt with a great view. The owner runs the entire place alone, so service may take some time, but it is worth the wait. The chicken omelette is underrated, packed with freshly chopped veggies, pan grilled chicken, and cheese, wrapped in perfectly fluffy whole eggs. It comes with potatoes, but a side salad can be substituted for a high protein and low carb breakfast. The Chicken Pesto sandwich with ethiopian spice is very flavorful and the best chicken sandwich ever. The vegetarian sandwich is also excellent. The house special smoothie is spot on each time. The coffee, including iced coffee and americano, is good. The food is delicious and fresh. The environment is relaxed with free wifi, making it a great place to work or hang out. The owner is sweet and personable, and remembers regulars and their orders. Mazar Cafe has a great local spot feel and is a pleasant part of the day.
