Dined at Yu Yu Za Zang based on a recommendation from a video on social media. So glad I did! I was not disappointed. Came for a late lunch on a rainy Saturday. Almost every table was full. The restaurant is homey and comfortable. We ordered the zazang myun and gan poong ki. I loved the zazang myun!! The sauce and noodles were tasty, not too salty and had me wanting more. The gan poong ki was also very good. Wasn't too goopy and had a good fry. Not too spicy either. Staff is very friendly and efficient. Definitely recommend dining here!

Hands down the best jajang myun in the East Bay. If you somehow find a better place let me know. The only downside is to try and find street parking. But on this rainy day it was still worth the hassle as warm chewy beefy oniony beany noodles is all we want today. Family favorite!!! Service is pretty attentive. Ambiance is old school but gets the job done. It should always just be about the food.

I enjoyed their jajangmyun. It reminded me of my youth in Korea. The restaurant's ambience is old Chinese restaurant and bit slow service but then this is how it is and liked it. I would definitely come back and try other food.

I went here with my family for dinner, and we were immediately seated. There were lots of open tables, so it seems like a good place to go to for groups. We got our order pretty quick and the food came out in five-ish minutes. The jajangmyeon was solid! Really big portions and lots of sauce! However, I wished there was more meat and vegetables. We also had to ask for more pickled radish too! I honestly like Paik's Noodle in Santa Clara more. But for the cheaper price and bigger portions, I would go again.

overall: favorite place to go for jjajangmyeon (black bean noodles) i come here all the time ambience: typical korean restaurant, a little rundown but many private booths and located in temescal neighborhood with a lot of other asian restaurants near. service: food always comes fast, easy to order. food: biggest portions of food i've ever seen, yet i cannot believe how fast we always devour our food. black bean sauce is thick and salty. noodles bouncy. always so good. tang su yuk is ordered sometimes when we want extra protein and i like the dough they use to fry it.

Very old school restaurant vibes. The steamed dumplings reminded me of bulgogi and was a little too sweet for my taste, even with soy sauce. The jjamppong was very seafood heavy, which wasn't my favorite, but I was still really good with perfectly cooked noodles. My favorite, though, was the jajangmyeon. The black bean wasn't too overpowering, nicely seasoned, and very earthy. The tangsuyuk was juicy and perfectly fried and made a good compliment to the jajang.

Personally not my favorite, prefer Gangnam za zang. Decent for the price in the Bay Area though.

I wish I found this place sooner. It's hard for JJM to impress me. I grew up eating one of the best JJM's from a mom and pop shop but they eventually closed down. I was so sad that I could never have such amazing JJM again. Not until I tried Yuyu Zazang. I brought a friend who has never tried JJM and also said "I hate beans, I don't know if I'll like this". Well he couldn't be more wrong. We both scarfed down the bowl so fast. The noodles were almost too perfectly al dente. The thing a lot of JJM places get wrong is that the sauce doesn't cling onto the noodles well, since the sauce is heavy and oily it often just slips off. But not this, each bite had the perfect amount of sauce. The flavor of the sauce...was also perfect. I almost have no words to describe it. You just have to come try it yourself.

If you're craving zazang myun, look no further than YuYu Za Zang. This spot is a no frills lunch spot where you should come in knowing exactly what you want. After you're seated, you're given a menu and no more than two minutes later, the waitress stops by to take your order. The noodles here have just the right amount of chew to them and there's no shortage of thick, flavorful sauce on top of the noodles. If you enjoy spice, they have a spicy zazang myun option you can get. It packs a 3 out of 5 for heat. If you're coming with a group, I would recommend getting one of their fried meat dishes to share. My personal favorite is the pork tangsuyuk. If you're never had this dish before, it's not too different than orange chicken, but the sauce is served on the side so you can control how much sauce you want, and this also keeps the pieces nice and crispy. Great spot for lunch! Parking around here is a pain though so plan accordingly.

The spicy seafood noodle soup is my favorite. This family run restaurant offers big portions of food. The fried pork is a must have item. The service may be slow, the parking may be difficult, but for a good value and good food, it is well worth the effort.

Great Tang su beef! Crispy and yummy! The sauce was not too sweet. Can't wait to go back!

Came here with my Korean friend who says this is her favorite jjajangmyeon and jjamppong spot & i was not disappointed!!! I tried both and i gotta say i'm OBSESSED with jjamppong now. The seafood flavor of the broth is so savory and rich & the noodles are the PERFECT TEXTURE - so QQ. Slightly spicy but nothing crazy at all. I crave this soup regularly (especially on a rainy day) and always want to come here whenever I cross the bridge into Oakland. Their jjajangmyeon was also super yummy, but i'm just a jjamppong over jjajangmyeon girly
