Home of Chicken & Waffles

I missed the Oakland Ferry to the SF Embarcadero and had an hour to kill. I walked around the Oakland Embarcadero for a half hour and noticed Home of Chicken and Waffles. I decided to give it a try. I walked in and was immediately greeted by Derrick. Smooth sailing from then on. The food is thoroughly prepped and presented. Customer for life. Good experience.

This was my first time visiting and I must say that EVERYTHING was on point. The service was top notch from the moment we walked in the door we felt as if we were being invited in. This is not a typical experience at a black owned restaurant so I was absolutely delighted to have this experience. On top of the AMAZING service the food was excellent! People are critical when they're rating•but this place is five stars.. I don't see how it wouldn't it be.❗ It is pricey . I got grits and a chocolate chip waffle and it was $19 ?•The grits and sweet potatoes taste just like my great Grandma and I always look for that true taste at other restaurants, but I can never find it...
