“Stellar falafel! Crispy outside and not overcooked! I had the lamb and beef kebab sandwich (I think--I was looking a Doner kebab and the friendly person taking the order said it was close--no lie!) spicy+hummus...two thumbs up! My friend had a burger and fries, which he said were exceptional....i had a few of the fries and these folks are absolute masters of deep frying technique...super crispy exterior, light, fluffy, tasty on the inside--just like the falafel. We ate out on the pavement on a beautiful day so the ambiance is 5 stars--but this really isn't a first date place...friendly service, but it's basically a takeaway with some tables on the street. Nothing wrong with that, especially when it's pretty outside....“
“Just picked up a box of Hamantaschen and, my oh my, they were good! YUM! Great filling and a delectable soft cookie dough. They are ever so fresh and tasty, and good sized too. A couple had the dough overlapped so far you couldn't see the filling exposed, like typically done, yet the surprise was quite nice. I would definitely get more!“
“This is a fairly unique restaurant: behind the Chinatown gate, you climb up a steep staircase, and emerge into a tiny and narrow restaurant that feels like it used to be an apartment. The prices are fairly high and the portion sizes are so-so (give us more bread, rice, and fries at least!) but it’s a great comfort to find a friendly, homey space in the city, and that’s certified kosher. I generally order appetizers to save some money: you can do well with the hummus and falafel and skip the more expensive meat dishes. Do not expect to feel stuffed afterward but to feel reasonably satisfied.“
“I got superb service the other day. I am a regular shopper here and made plans to do Passover shopping myself but as the coronavirus outbreak came along my plans have changed. I was worried I wouldn’t be able to get all my shopping done in time and get everything I need for the holiday. I emailed Yuval my shopping list with all my special requests and got top of the live service. My order was ready the next day and Yuval did not miss a thing! He took the time to go over the whole order with me to make sure I have everything I want and need.
