The margherita pizza is fantastic. Similar in style to Di Fara in Brooklyn which is consistently ranked as the best in NYC, but Leaning Tower's is as good or better (and you don't have to wait two hours in line). In particular, the crust and sauce are amazingly flavorful. If I had one criticism it would be that the pizza can be a touch too salty. This is a new go-to for me.
I found it mediocre. Generally the flavors tasted off/strange, and it's not because I'm against a sweet red sauce. We ordered a 12" combination, the crust is pretty good but the sausage tasted weird, and the flavors just weren't great together. Even the pepperoni Detroit didnt taste that great (the pepperoni was fine) and was missing a lot of cheese in the middle, despite ordering extra cheese. Sorry I really wanted to like it but I didn't. delicious pizzas, one of the best in Oakland. However, the house salad is AMAZING the best, top notch, great size, flavor to die for, crispy, crunchy, juicy AMAZING! Best salad I’ve ever had.
