Great food overall. Everything was great. I absolutely loved the chicken, and friends loved the beef. Would definitely come again.

The tofu soup is always a good choice. It’s comforting and delicious. The reason I put 4/5 starts is because the burnt rice is never consistent. There are days where it’s perfect and delicious but there are also times where it’s extremely burnt and they serve it to you anyways.Over the years, the price of a tofu soup went up. I remember coming here when it was maybe 10-15 dollars per soup. I think it’s about 20 dollars today.

Warning to vegans and vegetarians!! They gave me a soup with pork in it and when I asked to exchange it they gave me the vegetarian tofu soup and I found a piece of mystery meat in there. It felt like some horrible prank. Not cool ?

On vacation, this spot was recommended by locals. Food was fantastic. Service was friendly and quick. We loved the long tables and benches for seating. Price was reasonable, we wish we could have eaten more dishes; the waiter appropriately and politely helped us narrow down our choices to not order too much. Would 100% return!

the kimchi bi him guk su was SO GOOD, i absolutely love cold noodles, kimchi, and gochujang, so this was everything i needed and wanted. really good portion sizes too, because i got leftovers, and it became 2 meals. very homey interior, food came out pretty fast, and staff were always responsive! love!

All the food is amazing and the servers are wonderful! Get the Bibimbap.Vegetarian options: Most things are vegetarian, or mostly vegetarian with non-vegetarian options to add in.Dietary restrictions: The staff is very knowledgeable about the contents of each dish. You should be safe to eat here with just about any allergy.Parking: Be prepared to walk a few blocks from your parking space. This is a very busy neighborhood with lots of other establishments nearby, so parking can be challenging.Kid-friendliness: Very casual dining space with big tables and benches. Kids with adventurous palettes would certainly enjoy eating here.Wheelchair accessibility: Everything is ground level, and most of the tables have open spaces at the ends, next to the benches.

I used to love this place. 6-7 years ago the banchan was much more varied, and much less sweet. It really felt authentic and you could feel the "love" the owner was putting into it. Nowadays everything is super sweet and banchan is very basic. For entree, I only ever got tofu soup with squid. 6-7 years ago there was a lot more squid in it, now there's barely any. It's clear to me they have significantly cut costs, at the customer's satisfaction expense.Last, but not least, we came here as a group, and the staff added their gratuity onto the check without letting us know this. We should have expected this, but we were busy talking and in the mix didn't notice this. So we not only paid the mandatory gratuity, but gave them a hefty tip. The server did not acknowledge or thank us at all. That was the last straw. I don't come here anymore.

Super expensive not worth it!!!We used to come here often before pandemic and surprised to find out the price went up so high now. Not just that, the poor quality is also turning bad.The Glabi Tang has only 3 pieces of beef and all the others are just cabbage, it costs $39.99! That’s crazy!

Pyeong Chang Tofu House USED to be a 5 in my book, but today that has changed.Usually the food is great, but the last couple of times I've been back the quality and taste of the food has declined. We ordered a BBQ chicken, kimchi pancake, and dumpling tofu soup and the best way to describe these dishes were mediocre to bad.The dumpling tofu soup was lacking well, the dumplings. I asked the server about where the dumplings were, he took it back to the kitchen, and came back a couple minutes later with the exact same soup. I was confused, and he goes to say "oh they're in there" pointing to scraps of dumpling skin????? Literally I was just confused. The flavor wasn't great, the texture was all screwed up, this was just a sad soondobu! The BBQ chicken recipe has changed since the last time we ordered. It has an odd sweetness to it and just was mediocre over all.The Kimchi Pancake was the savior of this meal. I liked it, but my mom didn't. It definitely tasted different than before but it was still alright to me.The cost of the whole meal was $92, and for that price nothing was worth it. I don't know what has happened to Pyeong Chang, but this wasn't it... maybe they were just having a bad day today so i do want to try one more time. But considering my past meals here too, I'm not sure that's the case.Try it if you want, hopefully your meal turns out better than mine did!

My favorite tofu soup in the Bay Area! I've been coming here for years and it always hits the spot. Downside is that the cost of tofu soup is getting pricey! They offer a variety of tofu soups you can (based on the fixings you like in it) and other dishes (Korean fried chicken, bossam, pancake, etc.). I tend to order the mushroom tofu soup - comes with beef and tofu. You can choose your spice level. I love their extra spicy - actually has a nice kick to it. They used to give you a free egg to crack into your soup but now you have to pay for it. They bring out the rice in a stone pot. Once they scoop out all the rice, the rest of it becomes burnt rice! So good on its own and dipping into your soup. They don't give too many different side dishes but good selection (kimchi, cucumbers, potato, & tofu).I really liked their kimchi pancake. Some places make them thick where it's too soft of a texture. Here, they make it thin and just the right amount of crispness. Great appetizer to share!Good service, attentive and moves pretty quick when you ask for side refills (or just need something in general). Tables are pretty big, most likely will have to share one of the longer tables if your group's small. Street parking can get a little difficult since there's so many other restaurants around.

Poor service, solid delicious food. The asian woman working kept handing me the check with direct eye contact, as if I, a woman with my date being a 51 year old man, would be footing the bill for him....She did that TWICE. Like? Something about that read as a microaggression, and I don't like that.

Little sister wanted one last Korean meal before dropping her off to college () and this place was one of the highest rated in the area. I ordered kimchi dolsot bibimbap with tofu, and it came with a small soondobu that I got spicy. Broth was so comforting and hot in my stomach. The rice was a little bit on the dry side, but quite enjoyed the crispy parts on the bottom of the stone pot. I wish it came with more vegetables; also kimchi was cut too small for me. Everyone else enjoyed their soup/rice. Not mind blowingly spectacular, but very comforting and hit the spot! Service was also attentive and welcoming.

Love the tofu soup here! And amazing service. Portion sizes are great and with the sides you’re probably getting 2 meals worth.
