Really outstanding deli with great sandwiches. They have a solid every day menu and the rotating specials are quite good. Nice to be able to grab dry goods for dinner as well.

Visting Oakland downtown area recently.I hadn't been in approx 5 yrs. I was delighted to see Ratto's full with a lunchtime crowd. Ratto's is known for their delicious made to order gourmet sandwiches. I stopped in and ordered a tuna sandwich, which proved to be absolutely scrumptious. I can't wait to have a chance to visit again... Ratto's is my very favorite sandwich deli shop!

Ratto's..... I freaking love you!! Sandwiches are always well made, accurate, fast and awesome ingredients! You don't go light on the pesto. The bread is awesome! We use Ratto's all the time for company lunches and never had a sandwich made incorrectly.

My expectations were shattered when I walked into a bare deli with only a couple of shelves and the deli sandwich area. My past visits to other old historic delis were always full of shelves and clutter with a crowd of hungry customers waiting for their freshly made sandwiches, but that didn't happen here. We did buy a pecan dessert and it was delicious - probably the best we've ever tasted. The three stars are for the atmosphere of the interior.

Recently renovated this centerpiece of Old Oakland is truly a stalwart of great sandwiches, friendly staff as well a chill atmosphere inside. There's seating outside for those still a bit squeamish of that indoors. While the city will soon remove the seating on the street, there's plenty of room inside as well there's always to go.BTW , it's still a family operation, a century's worth of good food , provisions in a welcoming atmosphere.
