We wanted to try some mooncakes and decided to get a variety of items for Sunday brunch. No parking but we knew that. The lady was helpful once she figured out we were doing a brunch.
The mooncakes were mostly new flavors (e..g. lotus seed)for us. Sweet and extremely dense, think plutonium. Perhaps an acquired taste.
Pork buns were very good, also coconut and pineapple pastries. The curry beef bun was a standout. Nice alternative to usual brunch. Well worth coming back.
Best traditional Hong Kong style pastry here in Oakland Chinatown! Their Lotus Seed with Thousand Years Old Duck Egg 皮疍酥 is divine! Everything is delicious and in very reasonable prices! Service was fast and friendly! Seating tables are mostly occupied by senior uncles which make it almost impossible to sit down to have a coffee and enjoy the delicious pastry!

The bread is so delicious and affordable. It’s very hard to find a traditional Hong Kong style bakery like this. It’s a family owned business with very nice staff. I got the egg tart, baked chicken pie, and curry beef puff. I would come here again for sure.

Cocktail bun is amazing
Yummy corn bun and delicious taro bun! Not many vegetarian options for salty buns though. Coconut twist on the dry side.
Love getting my cakes here!! Bread always taste so fluffy and good, never going back to anything else. The only thing is that they only accept cash and limited parking.
Around 9am on a Saturday — inside is bustling with regular patrons, mostly grandpas enjoying their baked goods over hot coffee.
The counter display is filled with shiny, golden wife cakes and other baked goods, but my eyes navigate to the rack behind the counter — I’m looking for egg tarts. At $1.75 each I get two, plus a bbq pork bun for $2.50
They’re all warm :-) I eat them right away as I walk to catch my bus. The cha sui bao is baked (instead of steamed, my usual) and the inside is sweet, but too mushy for my liking, and without as much meaty pork. The bread to filling ratio is nice, but the paper is overly sticky so I ate some paper.
The egg tarts were to my liking - a thin, flaky tart and a sweet, almost gooey custard. I’ve been told Ruby King’s egg tarts are comparable to Golden Gate Bakery’s in SF. A warm one from Ruby King’s is smaller in size but hits the same in terms of flavor and texture.
I’m already thinking I’ll try the cocktail bun along with an egg tart my next visit :-)
Got a 9in Asian bday cake (mixed fruits) for my dear friend and it was so popular. Call at least a few days before to place your order. Everybody loved it. The sponge cake part was so fresh, and the cream wasn't too sweet. Loads of strawberries too. $33 bring cash.
Lovely family-run bakery with the most delicious egg tarts, pastries and cakes - all with great prices. Love this place!

No people help to order , the service is terrible. They sometimes help people behind you to pick food while ignore you.
