The noodles here are fairly standard (good) but the broth is a step above. The night I was there most people were doing takeout so it was fairly empty which means quiet - the way I like it.

Tucked away in Chinatown outside of the Renaissance plaza is Sobo Ramen. Upon entering you are greeted by the sight of a giant window showing you the ramen being made fresh in the house. Service was quick, but nothing spectacular. I ordered the Mayu ramen which was packed full of flavor. I love the black garlic oil which adds a layer of depth and smokiness to the tonkotsu broth. The meat was tender and flavorful, a melt in your mouth experience. I wish we got more than just one piece for the price of the bowl of ramen. I also got to try a little of the curry chicken katsu ramen, it was nothing spectacular. The chicken katsu was juicy but the broth didn't really have any depth to it. The curry flavor wasn't very strong. If i'm craving ramen and i'm in chinatown I would come again, but i wouldn't go out of my way for it.

Stumbled on this place during a brief stay in DT Oakland, and next time we'd make a special trip just to eat here. The food was DELICIOUS, the soyu cocktail very pleasing, the service and atmosphere as well. So glad we found it!

So so good! The right amount of noodles and toppings and it wasn't too salty. The atmosphere was really cute and cozy. Definitely going again!

I literally just cut my hand open to a metal that’s sticking out at the front door and the server didn’t bat an eye. Asked for an alcohol wipe to sanitize my wound to which she handed me a regular wet wipe because they don’t have alcohol wipe. As a business, don’t you guys have a first aid kit?I told her to put up a sign and cover the metal to which she doesn’t seem to take into consideration. Unprofessional behavior for putting their customers at risk. Upsetting.

Very low tier ramen, I ordered the basic Tonkatsu ramen with the Chicken Katsu and had a very average experience. The broth has no flavor and although the chicken was crispy, the sauce it came with didn't compliment it at all. I mean, just look at the photo...I will not be coming back.

Below average ramen. Servers are good. Ambiance is also good.

The ramen at this establishment is mediocre at best. This review is personally for the owner Stella, who is a certifiable nutjob, and who I would never endorse supporting.

Love it here. Like, really love it. Their noods are made in house and the broth options are killer. The second the temperature drops, I have it bi-weekly. Super easy. Great price. Lovely folks.

Yesterday was my second time getting food here. The first time we had dined in, which I thought the place was cute and service was good. Well honestly we just liked to be left alone when eating, which they did and made sure water was never empty. Now yesterday we did take out. Food is very much mediocre. Hard noodles and flavorless broth. I didn’t appreciate having 1 price over the phone (she even said that it included tax!) and almost $6 more when my wife came in to pay with cash for take out. Also they didn’t have much toppings. Really was hoping for bean sprouts which I was willing to pay extra. Also was charged extra for spicy. (The lady OTP said it was soo spicy so she will put it on the side) It was never in the bag, how disappointing. Also never got a receipt. $48 not worth it
