Food is okay, but the prices definitely make you feel like you're donating to the zoo for school lunch food, rivaling sporting event prices. Service was decent, even with multiple automated ordering systems. What you really pay for is the view... and forgetting zoo snacks for your kids...

Seriously who makes a pizza like this? When some cafe or restaurant mess up something so easy such as a pizza, it causes doubts on who is running the show.We also got garlic fries and after we ate enough to see bottom of the cup, it was drenched in oil. Sure, we eat fries and it's deep fried but you don't want to see your fries floating in oil when you eat.Gross.Food here sucks! Next time, I will bring my own food.P.S: The employees and the folks who run the place seem efficient and nice.

Desparate times call for desparate measuresI was starving and my toddler fell asleep in my arms and I'm stranded with no strollerI come up to the first cash register and see employees willfully ignore me, so I come to the second register closer so I can get eye contact and girl with the green hair tells me to go to the other register where I was at originally. Siral takes my order and I go up to pick up the food. I know it might not be part of he job, but I asked if she could help bring it to the table for me like, as I don't have any hands free as baby took up both my arms. She looks at me like I'm joking which came off kinda rude, but luckily the bearded gentleman helped me right away no hesitation. Burger was tiny but bread and patty were decent. It was topped with liquid nacho cheese. Not something I prefer but good do what you gotta doGarlic fries were crispy and on point, would consider getting this againNo ketchup that was really available and I didn't have the hands to dress my burger with condiments so I ate it dryCafeteria was nice and constantly being cleaned, nice view too

On August 11 2023, we ordered a buffo chicken wrap and a chicken Caesar wrap for lunch at Oakland Zoo Landing Cafe but we got freezing wraps right from fridge. I asked the service person for warming them up but I was told they don't have microwave. We had to bring the food home.

First off don't expect much from this place. I gave them 3 tries and they failed every time. On our recent encounter the order took them about 50min. I think I only got my order in that time-frame bcuz i complained it was taking too long at the 45min mark. I only ordered fries, a premade sandwich and a burger. It shouldn't take that long. The food came out cold. Which means it was just sitting there. No idea what they are doing. They should reformat their whole entire process. It just looked unorganized and lazy.My honest advice, skip the Landing Cafe unless you only care for ambiance (the view is nice). Bring your own food.

Cafe has a nice view of the bay but unfortunately often does not have enough tables and it can get very crowded. The food is pretty average for being cafeteria food but not many options either.

The food is pretty good at best and a waste of money at worst.

We went on a busy Sunday, and were very disappointed. The staff made several errors on our order, the croutons in the Caesar salad were mushy, the chicken Caesar wrap was missing any sort of dressing or seasoning, and the burger was, in my wife's words, "the worst she's ever had" (and we're not exactly spring chickens so that's saying something). One of our group is vegan, but they didn't have anything available except French fries, despite there being 2 other items that could be vegan on the menu (these were not available).

Food is fine, service can be better as they take a longer than expected time to prepare your order. The views outside are breathtaking.. so that’s what you can do while you wait for your order to be ready.

I gave him two stars for the wonderful view, but the food is terrible. I paid $20.00 for a cold chicken burger that lacked flavor and looked like it came from a trash can + fries. One of the worst and most expensive burgers I’ve eaten. The fries weren’t bad, but the whole experience was just terrible. I wished I would have tried the restaurant close to the entrance because this one was terrible!

Not sure about the bad reviews here...my family and I come to the zoo quite often and usually stop by the Landing. The cafe is located at the top, after a nice gondola ride. Yes, it's pricer than some restaurants but it's a restaurant at the zoo...much like you'd pay bucks for food at an amusement park or similar location. We've always had friendly and patient cashiers, and have gotten a variety of food (pizza, fries, burgers, fruit cups, parfait, etc.) Is the food stellar? Not exactly, but it's good. The pizza especially is good and made from scratch! My kids love watching the guys behind the counter toss the dough. Keep in mind the slices are also huge--my 4 year olds can down food like nobody's business but even one slice is enough for them.

Cold food...pizza, French fries...all cold! Waste of money.

We stopped in here today for a quick bite and we were really impressed all around. I'll bullet point the highlights:*Great view of San Francisco from up there. *The service was excellent. They were moving very quickly and getting orders out in a timely manner, which is huge because you don't want your lunch break to take up zoo time.*A big variety of beverages, food and sweets. They had plenty of healthy options here (salads, veggie burgers, fruit cups) as well as burgers and fries, pizza, etc. We had the Marsala burger with fries and the Rose Kim Crawford. Both were perfect! Surprised they had such a great wine selection. That was a real treat. Burger was cooked really well and had generous helpings of the toppings. Hit the spot! They have a condiment bar that had everything you could possibly need. My son enjoyed his vanilla bean cupcake. That was also delicious! *There was plenty of places to sit. It was also very clean! We chose to sit inside but the patio looked incredible. Awesome view. We will definitely be back next time we go to the zoo! Can't wait to try other menu items!
