High/Low is a restaurant located across from the beach's upper entrance, just south of the pier, offering a beautiful view of the ocean and Oceanside Pier from the bar. The ambiance is perfect for various occasions, from work lunches to dates and dinners.
The food at High/Low is creative and flavorful, with a mix of fusion dishes and classics. The shrimp roll is a must-try, and the fried rice, with the option to replace pork with chicken, beef, or extra eggs, is highly recommended. The Kimchi and pineapple provide a nice balance of sweet and tartness, while the egg on top allows each ingredient to stand out. The fish and chips are also excellent, with a light and flaky crust and a fresh dill-flavored sauce. The handmade apple pies are a standout dessert.
The service at High/Low is good, with friendly and attentive staff. Happy hour is a great time to visit for drinks, with a good selection of cocktails, mimosas, and wine. Parking is available nearby for a fee, though validation isn’t offered.
It's worth noting that the fried chicken and waffles are no longer on the menu as of April 2024. Overall, High/Low is a great spot for a meal with good food, drinks, and service, enhanced by the beautiful ocean view and atmosphere. The restaurant is best suited for small groups.
