I went to Tapioca Express in Alhambra on Monday the 15th around noon. I ordered a Thai Tea, which is personally my favorite! I usually order Thai Tea ever where I go because I can't get enough. Haha, The two people that were helping me were Jo and Steve or Steven, I didn't quite hear the other employee name but it's somewhere along those lines. They were super nice! Im sorry, but there needs to be an implementation for customer service training. It was my first time here, and if short staffing is one that needs to be addressed then please hire a 2nd person. While the staff member was nice, she was the only one there who took the order and then had to go make it. So I haven't been here for a while since prices have gone up and not worth the drive coming from Vista, but today I was in Oceanside and decided to stop by for a milk tea and some boba, well, I left empty handed because they apparently don't have the boba ready until an hour after they open.
Tapioca Express is a welcoming spot with exceptional customer service. The friendly and knowledgeable staff are always happy to help with questions and make drinks quickly and efficiently, though service can be slow when only one worker is present. Vegan options are plentiful, and the menu offers a variety of flavors and drink choices, including the popular salted foam coffee with Boba and the almond bubble. The combo meal with rice, mac salad, and popcorn chicken (mild spice level) is a delicious deal, along with the mango Tealush. Despite occasional long waits, the staff work hard to keep the line moving and drinks flowing. A convenient bonus is that the restroom is open late, even when nearby businesses are closed. Overall, Tapioca Express is a recommended spot for boba lovers, especially for those who enjoy lumpia and don’t mind a bit of spice.
