City Wok Reviews
Crispy Chicken Wontons and Chicken Salad yum 😋
We had such a great experience at City Wok! The food came out fast but didn’t feel like fast food at all—everything was fresh, flavorful, and really well done. The indoor/outdoor space had such a fun vibe with great music, and the wait staff was fantastic. Geoffrey was hands-down one of the best servers we’ve had in years—super quick, attentive, and genuinely kind and intentional. Happy hour (3–6 PM) absolutely delivered—large portions, great food, and you don’t...read full review

City Wok is a restaurant in Palm Desert that offers a variety of Chinese dishes. Customers have praised the tasty appetizers like Crispy Veggie Egg Rolls and BBQ Spare Ribs, along with the great dipping sauces. The service is described as awesome, with friendly and attentive servers who keep beverages topped off. The interior has a California Club ambiance rather than a traditional Chinese feel, and some customers have noted that the place seems unsure if it's a bar, sports bar, or restaurant.
Many visitors enjoy the house-made sauce, and the orange chicken is often called "boom." Popular items include lo mein, spring rolls, chow mein, and Singapore noodles, all of which are delicious. Some dishes like chicken satay and tofu receive mixed reviews about authenticity. While the food is generally considered delicious, some customers have found it to be good but not great, mentioning issues such as the noise from the kitchen and additional charges for fried rice and brown rice.
Despite some menu inconsistencies and higher appetizer prices unless during happy hour, the staff remains friendly and accommodating. Overall, City Wok provides a decent dining experience with tasty appetizers and good service, but there is room for improvement in food quality and consistency, as well as parking challenges when the mall is busy.
