This was the smallest portion I have ever received in a restaurant! We got the Marsala chicken and there were literally two pappardelle noodles rolled up next to the chicken. And they ask you if you want some bread for the table and then charge $10 for 4 mini pieces. And they charge more for wine than what’s on the menu so definitely look at the bill. When I pointed it out to the waiter it was clear that he knew. Paid $130 for 3 main courses with no appetizers and one glass of wine and left hungry. Food was tasty just way too little.

You won't understand until you go. The host is the best in the business and her husband is the chef. That make an amazing dinner experience together

The food and service is outstanding. I took my wife for her birthday. We were greeted with a glass of champagne and a hug. We always go there for special occasions

Small intimate little Italian restaurant. The owners are delightful and we enjoyed their personalized service and the farmers market to menu approach. Fresh home made pasta and very unique specials of the day were a hit. We throughly enjoyed the scallop carpaccio it was delicate and delicious! Pasta is homemade so not heavy and melts in your mouth. We will be back!

Intimate setting and lovely people. The place is, evidently, packed from open to close and one of the few things I did not appreciate was that everyone seemed quite rushed to vacate their seats so that the next group, standing amongst the tables, could be seated. I'm guessing they're booking reservations an hour apart, which is a pretty fast turn over, particularly when all our food did not all arrive at the same time. Otherwise, it's quite pleasant. The food a bit too mild for my taste (read, bland) but perhaps what that crowd, who appeared to be almost exclusively over 70, requires. You could do much worse in Palm Springs.

Listen, my family and I used to frequent Mezzo Mondo at their Los Angeles location for years...there is NO QUESTION it was the best Italian food in the city...and my husband was a chef in LA who, like most chef's, will only comment in a positive way if a restaurant is spectacular, which Mezzo Mondo always was. I was thrilled when they opened here in the desert. The food is suburb, service is always professional, and Luba, always warm and wonderful is there to greet you and make you feel at home. I recently ran into Luba at Bristol Farms in Palm Desert, and as usual, she greeted me as if I were one of her close friends. Their restaurants are not garish, overdone showplaces; the ambiance is just like the food that Elio so meticulously creates and prepares, and his wife Luba brings with her presence; which is tremendous warmth and comfort...Sandi & Tommy Tang

Possibly the best Italian in the desert. Not fancy and with a warm, friendly atmosphere.

This is a real hidden gem. The food is excellent, the wine list is small but interesting, and service is fast and efficient. The whole experience is what you’d expect in a sophisticated European restaurant.

Amazing food great service and even better atmosphere! The portions are very big so bring your appetite. Dessert was to die for and had to many options to leave one on the table ..lol.. Oh bring your fat pants because whatever you get you will TRY to eat it all.

This charming Italian restaurant is a hidden gem tucked away discreetly in a strip mall in Palm Desert. If you plan on being in the LaQuinta/Palm Desert area and want a truly special fine dining experience call ahead for reservations (it may take a day or two but you will get a call back). Don't be surprised if when you do get a call back that your hostess asks you if you can smell it?, she is cooking for you! My party of four arrived early for our 5:30 reservations and were greeted by Luba, who guided us through the various specials available that evening along with the set menu. We had starter's of the arugula salad, garlic bread and clam chowder. Two of us tried the lasagna, another the chicken Pompadoro and another the Salmon in an orange sauce (can't remember the Italian name). The food was properly exquisite, especially the salmon - light and the orange sauce was divine. As excellent as the food is, one must mention how gloriously Luba pampers each and every guest that crosses the threshold. Regulars are greeted with hugs and new faces with the warmth that might be reserved for family. This is an experience not to be missed. Also it is not cheap. Expect to spend $35 to $50 per person without alcohol. However, if you are a true blue foodie, don't miss out on this experience!

Had a fantastic dinner last night. Luba started us off with a wonderful welcoming and a detailed description of the menu and specials. We had a fantastic meal and everything, the appetizers, the specials and the deserts were all amazing. We will definitely be back soon. Thank you to all the Mezza Mundo staff for a fantastic evening. Cheers
