Incredibly authentic Japanese establishment focused on good food and service. The chirashi bowl had some of the freshest fish I've had in CA, which is surprising since this is the AV. The Japanese speaking staff is awesome, and this restaurant teleports me back to Japan. There's a reason why every AV local recommends this place!

The restaurant's intimate size means it fills up quickly, so arriving early is recommended. The staff, including a tall server who takes great care of guests, clearly take pride in their work, creating a welcoming atmosphere similar to dining in someone's home. The restaurant was a favorite of the late chef Masa, known for his talent and dedication, and his wife Mika continues his legacy by maintaining high standards. Overall, Shogun Sushi is highly recommended for those seeking authentic Japanese cuisine with friendly service and top-quality sushi.
