Bistros near Palo Alto

Cabana Cove Restaurant & Bar Bistros • $$$
4290 El Camino Real, Palo Alto

“I had their everyday morning breakfast Buffett. It was $17.95. All the normal things like eggs, sausage, bacon, potatoes, waffles, pancakes, etc. All you can eat. Cold items like pastry, yogurt, fruit, etc. Considering it is all you can eat it is a real bargain for the same price as a standard breakfast in this area. The service was attentive and friendly. Only reason I only gave it four stars instead of five is that the restaurant was freezing cold.“

“The ambience is one of the greatest reasons why we keep returning. We missed Cameron's great service this time, but the young lady who helped us was great. Food , as always, was top notch. Only slight negative was there were more than one beverage choices not available, but listed on the menu.“

“Bistro Vida offered exactly the French Bistro experience we were looking for: Traditional items like the onion soup and Steak Frites were prepared as ordered (and as expected). Service was prompt and polite, without being overbearing. Prices were quite reasonable for the Bay Area. Parking was readily available. (We had lunch on a Saturday.)“

“Went to the Super Bowl watch party where they offered free pizza slices, popcorn and draft beer discount. You can park in the underground parking garage. The bar and bar lounge area is pretty cool. The staff were all very nice and the food and wine that we had was delicious! We had chips and guacamole. You get a lot of guacamole. We tried their fish & chips which came with coleslaw. The fish was crispy, crunchy and not oily, the chips were tasty and the coleslaw really good. The Prisoner Cabernet was very good.“

“My husband and I visited Shoreline Lake for a quick bike ride the other weekend, and I was surprised at home much there is to do in the area! Shoreline Lake seems like a great date or lunch spot, where you can go on a hike or do an activity, and then have a snack. There was free parking in front of the restaurant, and from there we were able to unload and explore the many trails around the lake. There's seating at the restaurant both inside and outside, and picnic tables near the restaurant if you bring your own food. The restaurant also had lockers and lake equipment rentals. For lunch, I had a chicken sandwich. The baguette was nice and the homemade chips were excellent. The flavors on the sandwich were just ok for me, so I would try the veggie burger next time. My husband had the breakfast sandwich, but my favorite part of the meal was the granola he got with it! Service was a little bit slow and there's not a ton of variety in the options, but the quality is good for the price. We will be back for a date another time. It also seems like a nice place to take family or out of town friends.“
