This may be some of the freshest fish in the land, seriously. Fresh wasabi & nothing needs soy sauce! Chef Tom provided amazing service 🍣

Pleasantly and delishly surprised. Place is unassuming. Its quaint and intimate.
Foodwise, its fresh and well presented. Sashimi is served warm temperture and not over ice. Which is how it should be. Rice was not overly sticky. Well balanced in combo with the fresh fish.
Service was welcoming and super friendly. Enjoyed the relax vibe.

Akinori Sushi is a small, quaint, and intimate sushi spot in Pasadena. The restaurant is unassuming, super clean, and offers a relax vibe. The menu has variety, including the classics, something new, and sushi rolls with a new twist, plus dry aged offerings that are a must try. The fish is some of the freshest, and the quality is superb. The sashimi is served warm temperature and not over ice, which is how it should be, and the rice is not overly sticky, well balanced in combo with the fresh fish. The sweet shrimp comes with two fried heads of shrimp, and the plating is gorgeous. The trick or treat roll has quality yuzu. The staff is incredibly friendly, welcoming, and kind, providing amazing service. The chef is very creative. A taste of ankimo, monkfish served with a jelly on top, was surprising and tasty. Akinori Sushi offers lunch and dinner, with plenty of street parking. It is among the best sushi in the NELA/Pasadena area.
