I stopped by to see what all the fuss was about of this new colette rest.. was a little reluctant from previous ownership. Well I do have to say, Brilliant!!! This churro French toast and avacado toast with the option of an egg was magnificent. On top of the excellent food, I had an absolute amazing experience with the service. Peter I believe was his name, gave us a run down of the menu and gave us one of the best experiences in dining I've had in a long time. If I were you,...read full review

Colette Pasadena 人生如戲 is a culinary pioneer in the heart of Pasadena, redefining Cantonese cuisine with innovative flair. Chef Peter Lai's visionary approach, shaped by his experience at Hong Kong's Peninsula hotel, has transformed this former brunch spot into a gastronomic powerhouse. The menu features traditional Hong Kong favorites alongside reimagined American Chinese dishes and pan-Asian elements, showcasing the chef's commitment to creativity. Standout dishes include the char siu, made with premium Kurobuta pork, and the Crispy Stuffed Chicken, a reinterpretation of the traditional Crispy Flower Chicken. Recently, the fried shimeji mushroom has been highlighted for its tasty flavor, while the honey crispy shrimp has also become a favorite among diners. The lamb chops continue to receive praise for their excellent cooking.
The restaurant's focus on quality and attention to detail is evident in its labor-intensive approach, justifying its higher prices. The wagyu fried rice, though on the pricier side, is noted for its fresh ingredients and delicious taste, served in hot stoneware for a crispy layer. Impeccable service, attentive waiters who greet guests in Mandarin and English, and a clean, upscale atmosphere contribute to an unforgettable dining experience. Colette Pasadena is a must-visit destination for anyone seeking to explore the cutting edge of Cantonese cuisine in Los Angeles. Recently introduced $10 lunch specials offer great value for those looking to enjoy their menu at a lower price point.
