The Steakhouse Reviews
Loved my omelette, fresh fruit, biscuit and coffee this morning.
Was a bit discouraged to see the low, or average rating on The Steakhouse. In nearly 5 years I've lived here, we had never visited this establishment, right off Spring Street, across from the square. What a wonderful place to enjoy a very good steak. Cooked just how I like it. Sally the waitress was excellent.
Based on the reviews, The Steakhouse offers a mixed experience. The newly remodeled restaurant is comfortable and elegant, with a patio near Koi ponds that is perfect for brunch. The food can be excellent, with the steak cooked well and praised as phenomenal. Specific meals like the steak and lobster, salmon, filet mignon, Ribeye, and New York steak were all good. The bread is amazing, and the mushrooms and carrots sides are surprisingly incredible. However, the experience is inconsistent. The menu is limited with only four appetizer choices. The broccolini and Mac and cheese were not good. Some dishes, like the steakhouse tacos, were too spicy, and the tuna tartare had subtle flavors. Service varies widely; some reviews mention friendly and prompt service, while others describe poor, rushed service with long waits for drinks and food, including a 30-minute wait for drinks and a two-hour meal. A new policy charges for extra bread baskets, and one request to cut an elderly father's steak was refused. For the price, some feel it is not a good choice, while others see potential despite an off day.
