Local Local Local. You can't get more local than this great restaurant that makes food like my grandmothers. There is definitely a very authentic local flavor to the food here. For instance, the Albondigas Soup has green bell pepper instead of mint. The was there even tomatillo in the Chile verde? A beautiful location that reflects the community around it. Great service and atmosphere. Feels like a place lost in time. I hope it never changes.
Food is pretty good and ambience is wonderful especially out on the patio with the water fountain. Service can be good some days and a little delayed on others. It's also a little pricey for my budget. But on occasion it's a nice place to eat out. You may take a bit of a wait to pay for your meal if they're busy.
Very good Mexican food and a centerpiece of the community in Pauma Valley. Unfortunately they had a fire in 10/2023 that severely damaged the restaurant and adjoining market. Hopefully they can rebuild and continue to enhance the community.
