I love this local winery and tasting room. Lorraine and Mike are always amazing hosts and their wines are delicious. So exicited that they are opening a distillery!
Love this place! Yummy cheese and the cutest shop!
I liked the organized, informative cheese tasting experience. It’s much better than going to a cheese store and randomly try a bunch of cheeses. It was a cosy space with friendly staff. The shop open to the attached hotel courtyard. One can take the cheese and drinks to the courtyard and enjoy with your dogs. The cheese choices changes. Ours came with a selection of savory and sweet sauces/dip and bread.

The Petaluma Cheese Shop / Barber Cellars Winery is a family-owned and operated establishment located in the heart of Petaluma. The winery has been crafting delicious wines since 2007 and is known for its warm, welcoming atmosphere and knowledgeable staff. In 2023, the business expanded to include a cheese shop, offering a wide selection of local and international cheeses and charcuterie, as well as sandwiches to pair with the winery's exceptional wines. Customers can enjoy the cozy tasting room, complete with large windows, a bar area, and a variety of seating options. The cheese tasting experience is organized and informative, providing a much better alternative to randomly trying cheeses at a store.
This charming cheese shop features about 20 well-curated, fabulous cheeses, including local California options and delicious selections from Switzerland and Spain. The tasting board allows customers to try 8 unique types of cheese, and it constantly changes, offering delightful new flavors each visit. The shop is open to the attached hotel courtyard, where visitors can take their cheese and drinks outside to enjoy with their dogs. The cheese choices change regularly and often come with a selection of savory and sweet sauces, dips, and bread.
The staff are friendly and very knowledgeable, making every visit special. Customers appreciate the generous charcuterie board, which includes a variety of cheeses, meats, pickled onions, nuts, jam, and chili crisp. While the bread could be improved, the overall experience is great. Lorraine, the owner, is especially warm and engaging, sharing stories about her winemaking journey and helping coordinate visits for groups like wine clubs. Many customers love the cheese subscription, which includes detailed cards with background information on the cheeses and creameries. This cozy space, combined with the beautiful location inside the historic hotel lobby, makes this a must-visit for wine and cheese lovers.
