Alex Bar-B-Q offers a dining experience that varies widely depending on the visit. For breakfast, the Breakfast sando for $8 was amazing, and the hash browns were so good, with great service. The Bloody Mary's were delicious, and the Huevos Rancheros with Tritip was a standout, making guests ready to go back just to order that again. The restaurant was very clean and welcoming, from the outside to the dining area and restroom.

However, other visits have been mixed. On a karaoke night, the restaurant was very loud, and the massive TVs were blocked by lighting, making it annoying for watching sports. The food was okay, a little generic, and very expensive for the quality. In contrast, the dinosaur ribs were amazing—meaty, tender, and delicious—with a baked potato cooked to perfection and excellent chili beans. The Mac and cheese with a bratwurst was delicious too, and the food is priced accordingly, giving customers their money’s worth.

Yet, a Valentine's day visit had good service but the food was whatever, and the chicken kabobs were not cooked all the way, absolutely disgusting. Takeout rib dishes were perfectly happy with the ribs cooked perfectly, with meat so tender and moist, though special requests were not met. Overall, Alex’s definitely has the best ribs around, but experiences can be inconsistent.
